On May 18th, 2023, in the Vientiane capital, Mrs. Inlawan Keobounpan – Central Committee Member and Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Laos Women’s Union (LSU) – led a high-level Delegation which included Members from the Cuban Women’s Union, led by – Mrs. Teresa Maria Amare Yebui, Member of the Political Bureau Committee of the Central Party, Member of the National Assembly, Secretary General of the National Women’s Union of Cuba – to meet with – Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith – Secretary General of the Central Executive Committee of the President of the Laos People’s Democratic Republic! The two sides enthusiastically ‘Reported’ on their respective political activities, achievements and future objectives.
On this important occasion, the President of the Laos PDR welcomed and congratulated Mrs. Teresa Maria Amare Yebui (and the Delegation) – which highly appreciated the visit (and work) of the Delegation of the Cuban Women’s Union – as being an important contribution to enhancing and magnifying the good friendship and cooperation that already exists between the two peoples of Laos and Cuba! In the past, the leaders of the two countries have visited one another’s country – even though they are geographically far apart on different continents – showing that the bond of friendship between the two Parties, the two States and the Peoples of the two Nations is strong and getting stronger!
The President advised the Representatives of the two Women’s unions of Laos and Cuba to continue to coordinate, exchange information, support one another in activities in the regional and international arena and continue to visit and exchange visits with one another! Let the Women’s Union of the two countries continue to fulfill their roles and duties in contributing to education and provide accurate and in-depth information to the people of the two countries of Laos and Cuba – especially the new generation, the youth, to understand clearly and deeply about the good relationship and cooperation between the two nations and the two Women’s Unions and at the same time continue to implement the Cooperation Memorandum 2023-2027 and complete its agenda according to the agreed plan.
On this occasion, Ms. Teresa Maria Amare Yebui expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome of the President – stating that she will consider the comments and achievements of this visit and gradually apply the resulting developments of required work according to the actual situation.
