Some end their days inflated figures – like Henry VIII (but not Puyi).
Hesitant in handling so much amassed power.
Perhaps it is a seasonal thing.
The mood will change with the tilt of the breeze, or the sweet scent on the air.
Wise words have become ever more poignant.
They slip with a greater ease into my consciousness.

Politics is a funny business! The British Left is riddled with Trotskyism and is thoroughly disjointed, weak and unable to marshal its forces. This lack of vision and political will has surrendered the battlefield to the Bourgeoisie and the far-right – two very good friends of Trotsky.

Black Power was still “Revolutionary” at this time – but after 2001 many performers switched their style to eulogising the very capitalism that had a) historically enslaved their ancestors, and b) continuously generates race-prejudice against their people – from one generation to the next! Today, Black-Americans are tempted to merely settle for a slice of the capitalist pie – where they can “buy” a relative sense of security by living in (exclusive) gated communities (usually with White people) protected by “Private” Security posing as Police Officers!
