In order to eliminate the nationalist gangs in the rear of the 1st Belorussian Front, the commander of the front troops, General of the Army Konstantin Rokossovsky, ordered a number of special operations.
In addition to units and divisions of the NKVD, four cavalry regiments and two separate rifle battalions of the Red Army were involved.
The servicemen, step by step, combed the swampy and wooded area in which the Ukrainian nationalists were hiding.
Revealing their camps, they cordoned off the areas and carried out liquidation with special shock groups. Night raids were also frequent, as a result of which the Red Army took prisoners. The latter gave valuable evidence about the whereabouts of the gangs and their leaders.

В целях ликвидации националистических банд в тылу 1-го Белорусского фронта командующий войсками фронта генерал армии Константин Рокоссовский приказал провести ряд специальных операций.
Кроме частей и подразделений НКВД были привлечены четыре кавалерийских полка и два отдельных стрелковых батальона Красной Армии.
Военнослужащие шаг за шагом прочесывали болотистую и лесистую местность, в которой скрывались украинские националисты.
Выявляя их лагеря, они оцепляли районы и специальными ударными группами проводили ликвидацию. Нередки были и ночные вылазки, в результате которых красноармейцы брали пленных. Последние давали ценные показания о местонахождении банд и их главарей.
