Havana, Apr 19 (ACN) With the signature of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and president of the Republic, a popular movement of signatures in support of peace and sovereignty began today in Cuba, when imperial threats against the island increase.
In the symbolic town of Playa Girón, where Cuba defeated the mercenary invasion 65 years ago, the president presided over the act of tribute to the fallen in that epic, which made it clear to the world that the Revolution would always have moral and military forces to defend itself.
Díaz-Canel reiterated with his signature the independence of a people that weighs life and not bullets, that recognizes dialogue, and not in war, the best scenario to promote coexistence and build agendas of common benefit.
Now millions throughout the island will add their hands to the giant stroke, each with their signatures, holding young and expert hearts, bearers of dreams and diverse commitments, but signing with common ink: homeland and flag.
It will be a giant book, written by as many hands as the children of this land want to live in peace, without imperial blockades, hegemonic threats or military aggressions that would only leave eternal voids in the families of both nations.
These signatures will gradually fatten the muscles of a long and thin island that more than once has shown signs of defending its ideas at any price, like the moral giant that it is in the year of the centenary of its historic leader, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.
The Girón of these times calls for adding voices and writing together, on the same page inaugurated by Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in La Demajagua in 1868, that Cuba loves peace, but without foreign or annexationist yokes.

Una firma, millones de voces por la patria
La Habana, 19 abr (ACN) Con la rúbrica de Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, primer secretario del Comité Central del Partido y presidente de la República, comenzó hoy en Cuba un movimiento popular de firmas en respaldo a la paz y la soberanía, cuando aumentan las amenazas imperiales contra la isla.
En la simbólica localidad de Playa Girón, donde Cuba derrotó la invasión mercenaria hace 65 años, el mandatario presidió el acto de homenaje a los caídos en aquella epopeya, que dejó claro ante el mundo que la Revolución tendría siempre fuerzas morales y militares para defenderse.
Díaz-Canel reiteró con su firma la vocación independentista de un pueblo que pondera la vida y no las balas, que reconoce en el diálogo, y no en la guerra, el mejor escenario para promover la< coexistencia y construir agendas de beneficio común.
Ahora millones en toda la isla sumarán sus manos al trazo gigante, cada uno con sus caligrafías, sosteniendo corazones jóvenes y expertos, portadores de sueños y compromisos diversos, pero firmando con tinta común: patria y bandera.
Será un libro gigante, escrito a tantas manos como hijos de esta tierra quieren vivir en paz, sin bloqueos imperiales, amenazas hegemónicas ni agresiones bélicas que solo dejarían vacíos eternos en las familias de ambas naciones.
Esas firmas irán engordando poco a poco la musculatura de una isla larga y delgada que más de una vez ha dado muestras de defender sus ideas a cualquier precio, como el gigante moral que es en el año del centenario de su líder histórico, el Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro.
El Girón de estos tiempos convoca a sumar voces y escribir juntos, sobre la misma cuartilla inaugurada por Carlos Manuel de Céspedes en La Demajagua en 1868, que Cuba ama la paz, pero sin yugos extranjeros ni anexionistas.
