The failed Western-backed (NATO) military assault upon Snake Island was a bloody affair!
The tactic of conducting military operations by Neo-Nazi Ukraine today is to strive for high-profile PR successes. It doesn’t matter what kind of material sacrifices this or that result achieves in the real world – the primary objective is that Volodymyr Zelensky has the media opportunity to issue an impressive sounding statement – even if the statement itself is ‘untrue’.
Small island near the Danube
On the eve of Victory Day – Snake Island – located on the Black Sea became the target of the Neo-Nazi Ukrainian military. Snake Island is located about 35 kilometres east of the mainland coast on the latitude of the Danube Delta. Its area is only 20.5 hectares – but it was of paramount importance during the territorial dispute between Ukraine and Romania regarding the delimitation of the continental shelf – when deciding who exclusively controls the economic zone rich in oil and gas reserves – when that case was considered within the International Court of Justice. In 2009, a decision was made according to which the Snake landmass was recognized as an ‘Island’ (and not a rock) – the latter position held by Romania. Thus, the dispute was resolved in favour of Ukraine.
Since 2007, there has been a village on Snake Island with a housing complex and an economic base designed to support several dozen people. The island also housed a Ukrainian Frontier Post (of ‘Border Guards’) – as well as reinforcements from among the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. (The AFU – even its ‘Neo-Nazi’ variant still bizarrely ‘mimics’ the various Soviet Red Army Formations that once defined its military pre-1991).
How Neo-Nazi Kyiv “buried” the living
On February 24, 2022, during the afternoon, the Press Centre of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported:
“Two unidentified targets approached Snake Island. These ‘Invaders’ demanded that the Servicemen of the Border Guard Detachment surrender. The aggressor used the International Communication Channel to safeguard navigation. Instead, the Border Guards took up their defensive positions together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
Later, Zelensky announced that all the Neo-Nazi Ukrainian Border Guards who defended the island had died fighting bravely to the last man:
“On our Snake Island, defending it to the last, all the Border Guards died heroically. But they didn’t give up. All of them will be awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously. Eternal memory to those who gave their lives for Ukraine!”
The problem was that the subsequent message issued by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation was far from being so tragic:
“In the area of Snake Island, 82 Ukrainian Servicemen laid down their arms and voluntarily (without a fight) and surrendered as a complete Unit of the Armed Forces of Russia. At present, they are being asked to sign a refusal to participate in any further hostilities. They will soon be returned to their families.”
The Russian Military then released a video featuring the surrendered Neo-Nazi Ukrainian Military Personnel being calmly transported ashore and issued with food rations!
Meanwhile, within Neo-Nazi Ukraine, the myth of the “Heroic Dead” was already being promoted, non-stop media frenzy – controlled by the West! Even after the prisoners were shown to a) be ‘alive’ and b) ‘returned’ fully alive to their excited relatives waiting within Neo-Nazi Ukraine – the propaganda campaign did not die down! Quite literally – the proof of their presence was presented as proof of their death – in typical US anti-intellectual style!
“27 bodies of militants remain on Snake Island!”
Despite the weight of material evidence being against him – the President of Neo-Nazi Ukraine achieved his goal – following a massive advertising campaign in the US, UK and EU involving the UN and thousands of so-called ‘Charities’ – millions of dollars and further promises of endless aid flooded into the new Third Reich!
“From May 7, 2022, following direct instructions from Zelensky to the Neo-Nazi Ukrainian General Staff – with the direct participation of advisers from the United States and Great Britain – a major provocation was planned to seize Snake Island!”
Advised a Russian Defence Ministry statement.
“As a result of competent actions of a Unit of the Russian armed forces located on the island – the Ukrainian provocation was thwarted. The enemy suffered heavy losses. During the period of repelling enemy attacks – four Ukrainian aircraft were shot down in flight – including three Su-24s and one Su-27. The Russian Military also destroyed three Mi-8 helicopters with troops on board, and one Mi-24 helicopter. During an attempted landing on the night of May 8, three armoured Neo-Nazi Ukrainian Assault Boats of Project 58181 “Centaur” – together with all their Neo-Nazi Ukrainian Navy Servicemen – were destroyed.
As a result of Zelensky’s thoughtless provocation – more than 50 Neo-Nazi Ukrainian saboteurs were killed at sea and on the beaches during the landing attempts to relieve Snake Island. Twenty-four bodies of dead Ukrainian Servicemen remained washed-up on the shore of Snake Island.”
Major General Igor Konashenkov – spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry – said in a statement on the evening of May 10th, 2022:
“Another Neo-Nazi Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle – Bayraktar-TB2 – was destroyed by the Russian Air Defence Systems this afternoon in the area of Snake Island. Thus, over the past three days, the Kyiv regime has lost 30 unmanned aerial (military) vehicles in the area. Let me remind you that nine of them are Bayraktar-TB2 (explosive) drums. All unmanned aerial vehicles were involved in the failed “PR campaign” of the Kyiv regime to capture Snake Island on the eve of May 9th, 2022, the Victory Day of the Great Patriotic War! In addition, today Russian Servicemen found three more bodies of Ukrainian saboteurs washed-up on the shore. Now, as a result of the failure of the Kyiv operation, 27 bodies of militants of Neo-Nazi Ukrainian Special Forces Units and Nationalists Volunteer (White Supremacist) Units remain on Snake Island. Thus, this adventure ended in disaster for Neo-Nazi Ukraine. The thoughtless PR campaign of the Kyiv regime to seize Snake Island on the eve of Victory Day led to the senseless death of more than five dozen Neo-Nazi Ukrainian militants and Military Personnel of (Western-trained) Elite Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the loss of four aircraft, ten helicopters, three boats and thirty unmanned aerial vehicles.”
Ignoring losses: Why does Zelensky need Snake Island?
Sources in Kyiv report that the Neo-Nazi Ukrainian General Staff opposed the operation on Snake Island – but Zelensky, relying on the opinion of foreign advisers – pushed through it.
Despite its small size, Snake Island is of great strategic importance, since it allows control of the flow of cargo by sea in the direction of Odessa. NATO experts would like to use this waterway to increase and speed up military deliveries to Neo-Nazi Ukraine – but such deliveries cannot be openly carried out whilst Russia controls Snake Island.
In addition, the President of Neo-Nazi Ukraine was eager to present his compatriots with a resounding victory by May 9th. Paradoxically, Zelensky, whilst relying upon the Neo-Nazis, nevertheless, periodically continued to talk about the role of ‘Ukraine’ in the defeat of the Third Reich! The Neo-Nazi Ukrainian President planned to present the capture of Snake Island to the citizens as a historical success. But something went wrong…

Штурм Змеиного обернулся большой кровью.
Тактика проведения Украиной военных операций сегодня заключается в стремлении к громким пиар-успехам. Неважно, какими жертвами достигается тот или иной результат — главное, чтобы у Владимира Зеленского была возможность сделать громкое заявление.
Маленький остров недалеко от Дуная
Накануне Дня Победы целью украинских военных стал расположенный в Черном море остров Змеиный.
Остров Змеиный расположен примерно в 35 километрах восточнее материкового побережья на широте дельты Дуная. Его площадь составляет всего 20,5 гектара, однако он имел важнейшее значение при рассмотрении в Международном суде ООН территориального спора между Украиной и Румынией о делимитации континентального шельфа и исключительной экономической зоны, богатых запасами нефти и газа. В 2009 году было вынесено решение, по которому Змеиный признан островом, а не скалой, что пыталась доказать Румыния. Таким образом, спор разрешился в пользу Незалежной.
С 2007 года на Змеином существовал поселок Белое с хозяйственным и жилищным комплексом, рассчитанным на несколько десятков человек. На острове также располагалась украинская погранзастава, а также усиление из числа военнослужащих ВСУ.
Как Киев живых «похоронил»
24 февраля 2022 года днем пресс-центр Государственной пограничной службы Украины сообщил: «К острову Змеиный подошли две неопознанные цели. Оккупанты с угрозами требуют от военнослужащих Измаильского пограничного отряда сдаться. Агрессор использовал международный канал связи по безопасности судоходства. Пограничники заняли оборону вместе с Вооруженными силами Украины».
Позднее Зеленский объявил, что все украинских пограничники, защищавшие остров, погибли: «На нашем острове Змеиный, защищая его до последнего, все ребята-пограничники геройски погибли. Но не уступили. Всем им будет присвоено звание Героя Украины посмертно. Вечная память тем, кто отдал жизнь за Украину».
Но сообщение Минобороны РФ было далеко не таким трагичным: «В районе острова Змеиный сложили оружие и добровольно сдались подразделению российских Вооруженных сил 82 украинских военнослужащих. В настоящее время с них берется подписка об отказе от участия в боевых действиях. В ближайшее время они будут возвращены к своим семьям».
Вскоре российская сторона представила видеозапись, на которой украинские военные сходят на берег и получают продовольственные пайки.
Между тем в Незалежной уже раскручивали миф о «героически погибших», не собираясь останавливаться. Даже после того, как пленных вернули на Украину, пропагандистская кампания свернута не была.
«На Змеином остаются 27 тел боевиков»
И вот теперь президент Украины добился своего — берега Змеиного щедро политы кровью его соотечественников.
«C 7 мая по прямому указанию Зеленского украинским генштабом, при непосредственном участии советников из США и Великобритании, была спланирована крупная провокация по захвату острова Змеиный, — говорится в сообщении Минобороны РФ. — В результате грамотных действий находящегося на острове подразделения российских вооруженных сил украинская провокация была сорвана. Противник понес большие потери. За период отражения атак в районе Змеиного были сбиты в воздухе четыре украинских самолета, в том числе три Су-24 и один Су-27, три вертолета Ми-8 с десантом на борту, один вертолёт Ми-24. Также при попытке высадки десанта в ночь на 8 мая были уничтожены три бронированных украинских десантно-штурмовых катера проекта 58181 “Кентавр” с военнослужащими ВМС Украины.
В результате бездумной провокации Зеленского только в ходе высадки и попытки закрепления на острове были уничтожены в море и на побережье более 50 украинских диверсантов. На берегу острова Змеиный остались 24 тела погибших украинских военнослужащих».
В заявлении официального представителя Минобороны РФ генерал-майора Игоря Конашенкова, сделанном вечером 10 мая, говорится: «В районе острова Змеиный российскими средствами противовоздушной обороны сегодня днём был уничтожен ещё один украинский беспилотный летательный аппарат “Байрактар-ТБ2”. Таким образом, киевский режим за прошедшие трое суток потерял в данном районе 30 только военных беспилотных летательных аппаратов. Напомню, что из них девять — ударных “Байрактар-ТБ2”. Все беспилотные аппараты были задействованы в провалившейся “пиар-акции” киевского режима по захвату в канун 9 мая, Праздника Победы в Великой Отечественной войне, острова Змеиный. Кроме того, сегодня российскими военнослужащими на берегу были обнаружены ещё три прибитых с моря тела украинских диверсантов. Сейчас на Змеином в результате провала операции Киева остаются 27 тел боевиков украинских подразделений спецназначения и националистов… Таким образом, данная авантюра закончилась для Украины катастрофой. Бездумная пиар-акция киевского режима по захвату острова Змеиный в канун Дня Победы привела к бессмысленной гибели более пяти десятков украинских боевиков и военнослужащих элитных подразделений ВСУ, потере четырех самолётов, десяти вертолетов, трех катеров и тридцати беспилотных летательных аппаратов».
Не считаясь с потерями: зачем Зеленскому Змеиный?
Источники в Киеве сообщают, что украинский Генштаб выступал против операции на Змеином, однако Зеленский, опираясь на мнение иностранных советников, буквально продавил ее.
Несмотря на свои небольшие размеры, Змеиный имеет важное стратегическое значение, поскольку позволяет контролировать грузопоток, идущий морем в направлении Одессы. Эксперты НАТО для увеличения и ускорения военных поставок Украине хотели бы задействовать водный путь, однако такие рейсы невозможно скрытно осуществлять, пока Змеиный контролирует Россия.
Кроме того, президент Украины горел желанием преподнести соотечественникам громкую победу к 9 Мая. Как ни парадоксально, но Зеленский, опираясь на нацистов, тем не менее периодически продолжает рассуждать о роли Украины в разгроме Третьего Рейха. Захват Змеиного украинский президент планировал представить гражданам как исторический успех. Но что-то пошло не так…
