Pravda: Major General Igor Konashenkov Issue Casualty Figures: Russo-Ukrainian War of Self-Defence (25.2.2022 – 3.3.2022)

Author’s Comment: The Russian and Ukrainian casualty figures for the last six days of fighting are as follows:

The Russian Military suffered 498 killed and 1,597 wounded.

The Ukrainian Neo-Nazi Forces suffered 2,870 killed and 3,700 wounded.

The Russian Army has taken 572 Ukrainian POWs.

Since February 25th, the Russians have sustained around a total of 2095 losses (killed and wounded) whilst the Ukrainians have lost a total 7,142 (killed, wound and captured). Therefore, the Ukrainians have lost 5,047 more casualties than the Russians. This is odd in that it is usually the attackers that lose more considering the Ukrainian Army was already deployed in an aggressive manner around Donbass. The historical (military) stats tend to suggest that each modern army suffers around one-third killed to two-thirds wounded – but the Russians suffered around one-fourth (24%) killed and around three-fourths (76%) wounded. The Ukrainians seems to have suffered around two-fifths (44%) killed to three-fifths (56%) wounded. Perhaps Russian professionalism and a sense of moral-duty ensured their greater effectiveness on the battlefield – imbued as they are by a history of fighting fascism and paying a great price for their victories! The Neo-Nazi Ukrainians have received all the money, training and best weaponry from the US, UK and EU – but their fascist ideology has failed them miserably upon the battlefield when not faced with old men, women and children to terrorise (as they have been doing for the last eight-years in Donbass)! The Russian Defence Ministry has revealed new information about the losses of the Russian Armed Forces during the special operation in Ukraine.

According to official representative of the ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, as many as 498 Russian servicemen were killed and 1,597 were wounded. The families of the victims receive all necessary assistance, he added.

“The information that many Western and certain Russian media disseminate about the allegedly “incalculable” losses of the Russian Armed Forces is being deliberately disseminated as misinformation,” Konashenkov concluded, adding that neither conscripts nor cadets of educational institutions of the Ministry of Defence participate in the special operation.

The representative of the Defence Ministry also said that the losses of the Ukrainian side amount to more than 2,870 people. Another 3,700 servicemen were injured.

The Russian troops have taken 572 Ukrainian servicemen as POWs.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special operation in the Donbass. According to him, the decision came in response to requests for military assistance from the leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
