Blogger’s Note: The SSNP has a chequered history full of allegations of being “fascist” and/or inspired by Adolf Hitler. Yes – in the past, the SSNP did align itself with Assad’s “Socialist” Ba’ath Party – but in the past did have very strong associations with Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany. However, this seems to be an issue of individuals in the party – and their personal preferences dominate various branches. Perhaps the most damning piece of evidence is the “flag” – as it is clearly a modified Nazi German Swastika. Remember, Hitler was popular (and still is) amongst a certain strand of Muslim – who support his anti-Semitism. Indeed, the first military action taken together as allies between the UK and the USSR in 1941 – was to invade a pro-Hitler Iran. After 1991, the US encouraged in Russia a “National Bolshevik” movement – which falsely assumed that there was no difference between these two ideologies (both assumed to be far-right). The flag has the background of the Nazi equivalent – with a hammer and sickle placed in the white circle – replacing the swastika. The US flooded the post-Soviet space with far-right rhetoric and extremist religious movements between 1991-2001 as a means to break-up Socialist thinking and ideology (around 10 million Russians died of starvation and medical neglect in the switch to predatory capitalism. This is not perceived as an “attack on Russia” like the events in Neo-Nazi Ukraine are – as the bourgeois class that has took power in Russia actually agrees with the other-throw of Socialism and sides with the Americans). Media Office of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – Lebanon.
A delegation from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, including its official in Sidon, Saeed Abu Yassin, and the regional leadership, visited the Sidon-Zahrani-Jezzine branch office of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party. They were received by the head of the Sidon-Zahrani-Jezzine branch, Mazen Al-Imad, in the presence of members of the branch leadership, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
The participants emphasized the deep historical relationship between the party and the front, which culminated in heroic operations against the Zionist enemy, stressing the need to strengthen and develop this relationship through joint activities that meet the needs of our people, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances that the Palestinian cause and the Arab nation are going through.
The participants reviewed the American-Zionist attack on the Arab region, attempts to marginalize the Palestinian cause, the suffering of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the formation of the so-called “Peace Council,” and the demand to hand over the weapons of the resistance, in an attempt to subdue the Palestinian people and their resistance.
The Palestinian situation in Lebanon was also discussed, with emphasis placed on joint Palestinian action and unifying efforts to confront UNRWA’s measures and stressing the need to preserve the Palestinian presence in Lebanon.
The discussion touched on the war waged by the Zionist enemy against Lebanon, the resistance forces’ response to it, and the enemy’s continued perpetration of crimes of killing and destroying homes and infrastructure, despite the ceasefire agreement.
The attendees expressed their deep respect and pride for our people in southern Lebanon for their steadfastness in the face of Zionist aggression, and offered greetings to the prisoners, martyrs, wounded, and to the resistance of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples.
Both parties agreed to strengthen coordination between them in the trade union, cultural and sports fields.
