Translator’s Note: Whilst monitoring the DPRK’s “Korean Central News Agency” (KCNA) in both its “Korean” and “English” versions – I have not read any official article confirming North Korean Troops have been deployed to Russia or the Donbass. Furthermore, Russian diplomats have “denied” any such deployment. China has also stated it is “unaware” of any such deployment. It would seem that the Neo-Nazi ideologues of Ukraine are myth-making once again – trying to create hatred and anger in the West. This should not be surprising , as Adolf Hitler, in his tome “Mein Kampf”, advocated that his followers should utilise “lying” as a practical weapon to advance his vision. Zelensky, being a good Neo-Nazi – may well be doing just this – as he provides NO physical evidence to support his assertions. There is not even the usual South Koreans pretending to be North Koreans – thanking the racist US for their Christian conversion – and the selling of their wives and daughters into prostitution (all in South Korean accents, of course)! My instinct is that such a deployment would be something the DPRK would be proud to participate within – in the face of unjust US-sanctions. Personally, I see no reason why North Korea should not send troops to Russia, after-all, Russia is correct to fight the Ukrainian Neo-Nazism imported into that country by President Obama in 2014 – America’s first “Black” President! If it turns-out to be true – so what? North Korea should be proud of its achievements! The International Working Class should be grateful of these developments! The Chinese author is “speculating” and “considering” the issue – but does give interesting data. ACW (25.11.2024)
Foreign Media Lamented: 12,000 North Korean Troops Will Enter the Ukrainian Battlefield – Insulting the Courage of the Entire West!

We all know that although Western Military Aid is the basis for the Ukrainian Army to fight against the Russian Army for a long time, and that there are some Western mercenaries in the Ukrainian Army, so far no Western country has officially sent Regular Troops to Ukraine. The “Northern Ukrainian Coalition” that some people often talk about is essentially still the Ukrainian Army plus mercenaries from NATO countries. This proves that from the wings it takes great courage for a country to send troops to participate in the war, and no Western country dares to do so. It is similar on the Russian side. Whether it is the CSTO Member States or Military Allies such as Belarus, there is no possibility of helping the Russian Army to fight. However, there are exceptions in everything, and this exception is an extraterritorial country, namely North Korea.
According to the unvarified claims of Ukrainian Intelligence, 12,000 North Korean soldiers are about to go to the front-line to fight in Ukraine – in assistance to Russia to make up for its growing losses. In the past two days, the focus of Ukrainian media has also been reporting this issue, displaying a very pessimistic attitude. Foreign media claims that this move is part of a growing alliance between Moscow and Pyongyang that benefits both sides in many ways. Ukrainian Official Media reported that there are already 3,000 North Korean soldiers in the “Buryat Special Battalion” of the Russian 11th Independent Airborne Assault Brigade, and they are currently undergoing pre-war training. This is the first time that the West has discovered a “Buryat Battalion” composed of North Korean Personnel, from which, it is claimed, 18 North Korean recruits have supposedly defected (no evidence has been given for this claim). The Washington Post quoted a Ukrainian Military Intelligence Official last week as saying that the “mysterious soldiers” stationed in Russia are about 12,000 in number, organized into four Special Operations Infantry Regiments, and may be deployed to the Ukrainian Front before the end of this year. North Korean Officers have been in Russian-occupied Ukraine to observe Russian troops and study the battlefield, but Ukraine also claims that it has not seen any North Korean troops involved in actual fighting.
Kremlin spokesman – Dmitry Peskov – dismissed as a “hoax” the idea that Pyongyang was sending Military Personnel to fight in Ukraine, but Zelensky has continued to insist it is happening (whilst providing no evidence). The root of all this is the strategic partnership between North Korea and Russia promoted by Putin, which clearly stipulates that the parties provide military assistance to each other in the event of war. What does it mean if North Korea has a large number of Regular Troops entering Ukraine, or only fighting in Kursk? It means that the military alliance between North Korea and Russia will surpass the relationship between Russia and any country. The same may be true for North Korea, which will have a serious impact on the geopolitics of Northeast Asia. From the perspective of combat strength, North Korean soldiers may be more effective than the “Wagner” mercenaries, because they are Special Forces that have been trained for a long time and have firm beliefs or spiritual strength, and their spirit of sacrifice and combat skills may be superior to most of Russia’s General Infantry on the battlefield.
North Korea’s Foreign Military Aid strategy has historical roots, and is perfectly normal for that country. During the Vietnam War, North Korea sent a Fighter Squadron to support its Communist ally North Vietnam; during the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, North Korea sent Pilots to fly Egyptian fighters; during the Iran-Iraq War, North Korea sent Military Instructors to support Iranian troops. Along with Cuba, North Korea supported the People’s Liberation Army of Angola against the Apartheid Regime of South Africa; North Korea has also provided military aid to other African countries, including Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
The participation of North Korean soldiers may bring a lot of economic returns and help improve people’s livelihood. North Korea has a population of 20 million, but has to maintain 1.1 million Regular Troops (against the US, ROK, Taiwanese, and Japanese threat), which is achieved through “Military-First Politics”. Now, North Korean soldiers fighting on the battlefield in Ukraine will definitely earn much in foreign exchange, perhaps as high as several billion US dollars a year, which may account for 20% of North Korea’s overall GDP. At the same time, it can also allow the North Korean Army to gain combat experience to adapt to the modern battlefield environment – a huge threat to the US colony of South Korea. It should be noted that the combat style on the battlefield in Ukraine may be similar to that on the Korean Peninsula to a large extent. In particular, once North Korean soldiers learn to use cheap drones to fight, the South Korean Army’s ground offensive will no longer have reliable means. The use of long-range artillery and ballistic missiles is North Korea’s specialty.
Of course, for Russia, the North Korean soldiers joining the battlefield can help Putin avoid unwelcome large-scale Conscription, and even make Russia more relaxed in the face of a prolonged war. The combat effectiveness of the North Korean Regular Army is much better than recruiting some elderly Contract Soldiers from the country, or people with no combat skills. Next, NATO will face a greater humiliation: if the North Korean Regular Army enters the Ukrainian battlefield, then which Western country’s army dares to follow suit? If this does not happen, how long can Ukraine hold on?
