Translator’s Note: From what I gather, the Socialist Revolution in Russia (during October-November 1917) removed millions of Czarist troops from the trenches of the Eastern Front – which permitted the Imperial Germans to move millions of their troops over to the Western Front to oppose the British and French Forces. Whereas Lenin only wanted peace – the capitalists only wanted war. Due to the influence the Zionist lobby had in the US – the UK was forced to oil the cogs of negotiation by promising the Zionists a homeland in Palestine (should the UK win WWI). Palestine at the time was controlled by the Ottoman Turks – the allies of Imperial Germany. The idea was to use US troops to replace the now absent Russian troops – but to do this the Zionist lobby (that controls the US) had to be enticed with offers of free land (this was done and US troops were deployed in France). Meanwhile, in the USSR, the Zionists attempted to destroy the Soviet Revolution through the antics of Leon Trotsky – as it was thought a “Greater Israel” could be forged out of captured Soviet territory. The British took-over Palestine with their victory after WWI. This how the Palestinians lost half their land without their knowledge and consent. Statement issued by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on the 109th anniversary of the ill-fated Balfour Declaration
The Zionist governments change and the colonial project remains constant, only to be confronted with resistance and unity.
Masses of our Palestinian people,
O sons of our Arab nation, and O free people of the world,
Today marks the 109th anniversary of the ill-fated Balfour Declaration, as our people are facing one of the most difficult phases in their history, under the ongoing war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, where they are subjected to siege, starvation and systematic destruction of infrastructure and the elements of life, in parallel with the war of uprooting, displacement, Judaization and settlement that is escalating in the West Bank and Jerusalem. This bloody moment reminds us of the roots of the Palestinian tragedy and the historical responsibility of British colonialism, which granted the land of Palestine to the Zionist movement, opening the way for a settler-colonial, fascist and racist project based on uprooting our people from their land and confiscating their rights. It is a crime that we will not forgive or forget, and Britain’s responsibility for it will remain as our people continue to struggle to regain their rights.
Today, more than a century later, this crime continues with new tools and clear partnerships, and the military and political support provided by the Western powers to the occupation and the cover they provided to it during the war of extermination, confirm the continuation of colonial responsibility for the tragedy of our people. In Britain itself, public anger is mounting and demands for the British government’s role in the war are growing, with tens of thousands of people signing a petition demanding an independent investigation into the extent of its involvement and support for military operations against the Gaza Strip. This shift in world public opinion represents an important force that must be built upon, to strengthen communication with popular, trade union and progressive forces, and to turn solidarity with our people into sustained political and legal pressure.
The recent Zionist elections reveal the reality of the project that our people are facing, as Zionist governments change and criminal leaders are succeeding, while the Zionist project and its colonial program remain the same, consistent in its essence and goals. It is a project based on settlement, annexation, displacement and the denial of the rights of our people, and it can only be confronted by strengthening the steadfastness and resistance of our people, consolidating its national unity, and mobilizing all Palestinian, Arab and international energies in the face of this colonial project.
Masses of our people,
Our people in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, the territories of the 1948 territories and the Diaspora have proven their unity of identity and destiny, and their adherence to their inalienable rights in full. In the face of the harsh conditions surrounding our cause and the dangers that threaten its future, a comprehensive Palestinian national dialogue becomes an inevitable obligatory passage, as national unity today is necessary to protect our people, end the division, rebuild our national institutions on the foundations of democracy and true partnership, and formulate an inclusive national strategy to confront the occupation and liquidation projects.
On the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, we reaffirm that a people that has faced more than a century of colonialism and uprooting will not give up its land and rights, and that Palestine, despite the war of extermination, starvation, displacement and all the liquidation projects, will remain the land of its people and their homeland, which is fighting for its freedom, return and independence.
Glory to the martyrs. And healing for the wounded. And freedom for the prisoners… And victory for our people and their continuous struggle

الجبهة الشعبية في ذكرى وعد بلفور المشؤوم: بريطانيا شريكة في الجريمة والمسؤولية لن تسقط بالتقادم
بيان صادر عن الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين في الذكرى التاسعة بعد المئة لوعد بلفور المشؤوم
تتغير الحكومات الصهيونية ويبقى المشروع الاستعماري ثابتاً لا يواجه إلا بالمقاومة والوحدة.
يا جماهير شعبنا الفلسطيني،
يا أبناء أمتنا العربية، ويا أحرار العالم،
تحل اليوم الذكرى التاسعة بعد المئة لوعد بلفور المشؤوم، فيما يخوض شعبنا واحدة من أصعب مراحل تاريخه، تحت حرب الإبادة المتواصلة في قطاع غزة، حيث يتعرض للحصار والتجويع والتدمير المنهجي للبنية التحتية ومقومات الحياة، بالتوازي مع حرب الاقتلاع والتهجير والتهويد والاستيطان التي تتصاعد في الضفة والقدس. وتعيد هذه اللحظة الدامية التذكير بجذور المأساة الفلسطينية، وبالمسؤولية التاريخية للاستعمار البريطاني الذي منح أرض فلسطين للحركة الصهيونية، فاتحاً الطريق أمام مشروع استعماري استيطاني إحلالي فاشي وعنصري قام على اقتلاع شعبنا من أرضه ومصادرة حقوقه. إنها جريمة لن نغفرها ولن ننساها، وستبقى مسؤولية بريطانيا عنها قائمة ما بقي شعبنا يناضل من أجل استعادة حقوقه.
واليوم، وبعد أكثر من قرن، تتواصل هذه الجريمة بأدواتٍ جديدة وشراكات واضحة؛ فالدعم العسكري والسياسي الذي تقدمه القوى الغربية للاحتلال، والغطاء الذي وفرته له خلال حرب الإبادة، يؤكدان استمرار المسؤولية الاستعمارية عن المأساة التي يعيشها شعبنا. وفي بريطانيا نفسها، يتصاعد الغضب الشعبي وتتسع المطالبات بكشف دور الحكومة البريطانية في الحرب، حيث وقّع عشرات الآلاف على عريضة تطالب بتحقيق مستقل في حجم مشاركتها ودعمها للعمليات العسكرية ضد قطاع غزة. إن هذا التحول في الرأي العام العالمي يمثل قوة مهمة يتوجب البناء عليها، وتعزيز التواصل مع القوى الشعبية والنقابية والتقدمية، وتحويل التضامن مع شعبنا إلى ضغط سياسي وقانوني متواصل.
وتكشف الانتخابات الصهيونية الأخيرة حقيقة المشروع الذي يواجهه شعبنا، حيث تتغير الحكومات الصهيونية وتتعاقب القيادات المجرمة، فيما يبقى المشروع الصهيوني وبرنامجه الاستعماري واحداً، ثابتاً في جوهره وأهدافه. وهو مشروع يقوم على الاستيطان والضم والتهجير وإنكار حقوق شعبنا، ولا يمكن مواجهته إلا بتعزيز صمود شعبنا ومقاومته، وترسيخ وحدته الوطنية، وحشد كل الطاقات الفلسطينية والعربية والأممية في مواجهة هذا المشروع الاستعماري.
يا جماهير شعبنا،
لقد أثبت شعبنا في غزة والضفة والقدس وأراضي الـ48 والشتات وحدة هويته ومصيره، وتمسكه بحقوقه الثابتة كاملة. وأمام الظروف القاسية التي تحيط بقضيتنا، والمخاطر التي تهدد مستقبلها، يصبح الحوار الوطني الفلسطيني الشامل ممرّاً إجبارياً لا مفر منه؛ فالوحدة الوطنية اليوم ضرورة لحماية شعبنا، وإنهاء الانقسام، وإعادة بناء مؤسساتنا الوطنية على أسس ديمقراطية وشراكة حقيقية، وصياغة استراتيجية وطنية جامعة تواجه الاحتلال ومشاريع التصفية.
في ذكرى وعد بلفور، نجدد التأكيد أن شعباً واجه أكثر من قرن من الاستعمار والاقتلاع لن يتخلى عن أرضه وحقوقه، وستبقى فلسطين، رغم حرب الإبادة والتجويع والتهجير وكل مشاريع التصفية، أرض شعبها ووطنه الذي يناضل من أجل حريته وعودته واستقلاله.
المجد للشهداء.. والشفاء للجرحى.. والحرية للأسرى… والنصر لشعبنا ونضاله المستمر
وعاشت فلسطين حرة من نهرها إلى بحرها، وعاصمتها القدس.
