Blogger’s Note: My partner is a NHS Midwife working in London. She told me that with regard to Black women – the Midwives and Nurses are always on the look-out for “Female Genital Mutilation” (FGM) – which needs to be reported. When these girls are around 12 their clitoris and part of the labia (vulva) is cut-off with a rusty razor-blade all in the name of religion. The resulting “hole” is then sown-shut. As menstrual-discharge cannot leave the body naturally – infections (to varying degrees) ensue. Sometimes, the older women who perform these mutilations on young girls sometimes leave a small hole to assist discharge and urination. Within some African cultures – “Islamic” and “Tribal” beliefs are used to justify this behaviour. However, I believe that Islam does not call for this in general and that it is the influence of old tribal attitudes upon Islamic practice that has led to this situation. Whatever the case, the women from one generation to the next, are brainwashed to expect and to carry-out this procedure. Within Judaism, Males are circumcised by Rabbis just after birth – with the Rabbi often filmed “sucking” the cut penis to stem the flow of blood. Christians reject this (racist) practice – but Islam continues it for boys. Midwives in the UK report FGM as it is illegal and requires specialist medical treatment. The women are granted various types of corrective surgery on the NHS. As for men subjected to genital mutilation – NOTHING happens – as the practice is protected under laws used to prevent anti-Semitism and Islamo-phobia. Even a Rabbi sucking a baby’s circumcised penis is considered “exempt” from sexual abuse laws (videos of this practice can be found on YouTube). In Africa, certain tribes allow their boys to reach 12-years old and then a Medicine Man (Shaman) uses a rusty razor-blade to cut=off the fore-skin. I can find articles for nearly every year going back ten-years that highlight dozens of boys dying from shock, infection, and side-effects of this operation inflicted without pain-killer, cleanliness, or follow-up medical care. When South Africa hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup – often young oxen were taken into football stadiums and then kicked and stamped to death by young tribal men. When complaints were made about this barbarous ritual – the South African government retorted with the counter allegation of “racism”. And here we are. ACW (31.8.2026)

At least 48 boys and young men died during recent initiation ceremonies in South Africa, among them 22-year-old Lamkelo Mtyho, who had no known health issues when he entered a registered school—but never returned.
Mtyho joined his peers wrapped in blankets and smeared in clay, the traditional rite meant to mark his passage into manhood.
Weeks later, his grandmother learned he had collapsed on the way to bathe.
“Initiation is not an easy thing,” Nozinzile said, “but the thought of him dying never crossed my mind.”
Deadly risks
Poorly trained practitioners, unsanitary tools, dehydration, and septic wounds claim lives each season, often in remote settings where help is far away.
Former health minister Zwelini Mkhize told parliament 476 young people died over a five-year period—”deaths that are unacceptable.”
Culture vs. safety While traditional leader Morena Mpembe defends initiation as “a culture left to us by our elders,” illegal schools thrive where registered ones are unaffordable.
In one municipality, lawmakers found more illegal than legal schools.
Recent arrests included 16 traditional surgeons and parents accused of falsifying boys’ ages.
A mother of two initiates called for government oversight, saying, “Young people are losing their lives.”
