Jazz Fusion in the Confederacy

CSA: Jazz – An Interesting Assessment of “Black Freedom” in the Post-Confederate Period! (4.6.2026)

He had come from the British colony of the West Indies – and was surprised to observe how cognitively undeveloped the slave population was in America. In the West Indies the British had established “Re-Education Camps” which all former-slaves had to be held within. They were daily taught how to read and write, how to count, and how to civilly interact with one another (and other people). They were taught cleanliness and hygiene, etc. This included medical understanding and religious practice (Protestant Christianity). When each individual successfully passed all the sets tests and examinations – they were declared a “Free Citizen” and released into general society. Another way of gaining this status was to join the British Army and serve in Africa for the UK government. Men who survived 20-years gained British Citizenship and the right to settle in England as an Englishman – a great honour. Jefferson Davis wanted a phased reduction and abolition of slavery once the sovereign status of each State had been decided. He certainly had no intention of extending or preserving the institution – but you can see from the above quote that the North preserved slavery well into the 20th century – but gave it a thin-veneer of a faux “freedom”. Just as Davis promised the Native Americans their own country – he promised all Black men who supported the Confederacy “Freedom” and “Citizenship”. Because the North did not bother to transition the former slave populations – America is today riddled with all kinds of sociological ills. As matters stand, a “forced” assimilation does not seem to be working.

South Africa: Chinese Consulate Thanks South African Rescuers After Tourist Rescued on Table Mountain! (2.1.2026)

The Chinese tourist encountered some difficulties on the evening of May 23, with staff from the Cape Town Wilderness Search and Rescue team, Cape Town Tourism, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company, and South African National Parks working together to successfully bring the tourist to safety, and now has returned safely to China.

Ren Faqiang, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Cape Town, presented certificates of appreciation to the rescuers, praising their professionalism and selfless dedication. He said the successful operation reflected the spirit of mutual assistance between the people of China and South Africa, as it further embodies South Africa’s philosophy of Ubuntu.

Africa: AU & UN Leaders Denounce External Interferences in Africa’s Security Crisis! (15.5.2026)

Youssouf said the interferences are requiring the AU, UN and other partners to deploy more efforts to contain the crises. “The AU must lead any peace negotiations on the continent, based on the principle of African solutions to African conflicts.”

Guterres, for his part, said it is absolutely intolerable that countries that are external to Africa interfere in African conflicts, providing weapons and political support with the objective of serving their strategic or economic interests.

“We need naturally to go on developing our common diplomacy, to make sure that we create the conditions for this kind of interference to cease and for other actors to be able to come to political agreements, able to end these conflicts,” he said.

According to Guterres, the world is witnessing a new kind of war where the military does not fight each other but launches drones against civilians.

“We also raise our voices, denouncing those countries that are providing drones that are not manufactured in Africa, as they are causing terrible sacrifice for the African people,” he added.

Speech delivered by Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, at the closing of the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, at the Convention Center, on May 2, 2026, "Year of the Centennial of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz."

Cuba: May Day Speech Delivered at the Closing of the International Meeting of Solidarity! (3.5.2026)

When it is said that we are an extraordinary and unusual threat to the United States – and we are sure that this is not the feeling of the American people, that is the pretext used by the American government to attack us – one wonders: What is the threat, what is extraordinary about that threat, what is unusual about that threat, when Cuba is a country of peace, when Cuba is a country that has served as the setting for the main peace dialogues in the Latin American and Caribbean region, when Cuba was the place where the Catholic Church and the Russian Orthodox Church came to meet to resolve the schism they had maintained for more than fifteen hundred years?

I try to answer that question every day, but, as Bruno explains, there is no pretext, there is no reason to justify military aggression against Cuba. Well, that “extraordinary and unusual threat” may be the example of resistance and creativity of the Cuban people.

When we talk about solidarity, I think we are talking about three elements that distinguish the value of international solidarity:

One is the tenderness of the peoples, because among all of us we have learned to share something that Fidel taught us, and that is that we do not give out of solidarity what we have left over, but we give what we have to share it among all.

Africa: Chinese Traditional Culture at Togo’s Independence Day! (28.4.2026)

A Chinese traditional culture contingent composed of students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Lome made its debut as the first folklore group in the procession, marking the first appearance of a foreign cultural contingent in the history of Togo’s Independence Day parade.

A total of 34 Confucius Institute students, dressed in traditional Hanfu and ethnic costumes, held peony-patterned umbrellas, while dragon and lion dance performers moved among them.

The display conveyed sincere festive greetings to the Togolese people and won warm applause and high praise from the audience.

Wang told Xinhua that the presence of “Chinese red” stood out in the procession, complementing Togo’s traditional cultural formations and jointly painting a vivid picture of harmonious exchanges between Chinese and Togolese civilizations.

She added that the performance had become a highlight of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.

Where Buses Go To Die!

UK: Weird News from England – Eerie Aerial Images Show “Britain’s Biggest Bus Graveyard”! (21.4.2026)

The spot has become popular with urban explorers, something which the landowners have condemned, saying they are ‘wrongfully’ breaking into the site. Barnsley has been dubbed the ‘bus scrapping capital’ of the UK following the success of entrepreneur Paul Sykes, 82, who is one of Britain’s richest people, being worth a cool £775m, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.

Aged 19, he started his own business dismantling buses for scrap metal and later evolved into exporting engines and parts, which were fitted in fishing junks in The Far East, Hong Kong, Penang and Singapore. He also exported complete buses to Australia, New Zealand, Africa and other commonwealth countries, which he did profitably for over 20 years.

One of his companies also became the largest distributor of buses in the UK.
