Life can be full of ironies. Whilst researching the Western lies concerning the history of the Soviet Union – I placed the (Blu-ray) Commentary on ‘Play’ in the background – regarding Ridley Scott discussing his 2012 film ‘Prometheus’. Not only is this a Eurocentric interpretation of the cosmos – but hidden behind all the half-spoken plot-lines is an affirmation of the Judeo-Christian tradition that plays into the fascism concocted by Eric Von Daniken. God a) ‘exists’, b) is an ‘astronaut’, c) is ‘White’ (possibly ‘Slavic’) and d) is ‘leading’ humanity to some kind of higher reality (as a superior alien species) that uses ‘science’ as a steeping-stone to an affirmation of theostic religion! Indeed, Much of the Box Office failure that was the 2018 ‘Alien Covenant’ (Ridley Scott’s follow-up to ‘Prometheus’) – we see entire scenes and reams of dialogue cut-out that clearly reveal this religious and racial bias.
As science fiction is NOT dialectically real – does anything it has to say really matter? Well, if a film does not cut-even or make twice or three-times the amount it cost the film to be made – then within the strictures of the predatory capitalist system it was made – it is deemed a ‘failure’ simply due to the amount of money it has generated regardless of its message or artistic merit. This is the ‘science-fact’ of the prevailing economic system in the West that has made individuals such as Ridley Scott multimillionaires. When Ridley Scott ‘talks’ through the two-hour Commentary – it is as if his involvement in the film is so esoteric and detached that he does not really possess any cogent idea about what the finished product actually represents. Perhaps this represents the destiny he envisions for his ‘Engineers’ – who are apparently ‘busy’ evolving from the state of (restricted) matter into the all-embracing reality of boundless energy!
I found Ridley Scott’s meandering dialogue similar to my personal experience of listening to people who are suffering from some type of neurological disease or disorder. He mumbles, stutters, quotes and reveals – but much of it comes across as haphazard and suggestive of an individual on ‘Day Release’. Someone who is happy to be in the presence of a non-judgemental audience. And on and on he went – not really understanding the film he is describing. Then suddenly Ridley Scott mumbles (at around the 115 minute-mark) ‘Destruction is a creative act! Do you know you said that? Joe Stalin! He had many such sayings! How many did he kill? Sixty-million! Wow! The characters I have created are so terribly awesome!’
Of course, none of this is true. Ridley Scott has forgotten that 41 million Soviet men, women and children were killed and wounded between 1941-1945 – by the invading Nazi Germans and their Catholic supporters – with the Soviets fighting as an ally of the UK during WWII! Furthermore, tens of thousands of NKVD Special Forces Troops took-on and eventually defeated the (Nazi) Catholic population of West Ukraine that was led by non-surrendered Nazi German Officers between 1945-1947! (See the work of Alexander Werth who personally knew one of these brave Soviet soldiers). Ridley Scott, despite being immensely wealthy, seems to be a little ‘out’ with his racialised misnumbering. The lies of US anti-intellectualism usually ascribe the ridiculous number ‘sixty-million’ (the population of the UK) to the number of people supposedly killed in China by Mao Zedong! Just as Joseph Stalin killed no-one – Mao Zedong killed no-one (when I tell my friends in China about this racist lie – they are astonished – as no such graves exist and no such number of people are missing).
This is unlike the US – the military of which has murdered between 20-30 million people around the world between 1945 to present – enforcing its preferred economic system. If the body-count of the collective West is taken into account (including Zionist Israel) – the true barbarity of the capitalist system that has enriched the likes of the bumbling Ridley Scott becomes clear. No wonder he persists with the idea of conflating ‘science’ with ‘religion’ whilst condemning the working-class to eternal poverty and suffering! He attacks the greatest working-class heroes whilst persuading the peasants and workers to hand-over their hard-earned money! Even though he is British – he is certainly a class enemy of top-notch proportions. He stands on the bones of 41 million Soviet men, women and children – whilst he eats well and enjoys the freedom this mound of death has earned him! Perhaps this is the film the workers should make!
