The Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab National Congress – Dr. Maher Al-Taher -condemned that the BURNING the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark – constitutes a CRIME!
Al-Taher said in a statement that:
“It is not the first time that the feelings (and symbols) of Muslims have been attacked – which confirms that what is happening is not a spontaneous act or that of mindless individual actions – but rather an aggressive, racist, organized approach that belittles and offends the feelings of all Muslims all over the whole world!”
Al-Taher added:
“The Arab National Congress strongly condemns and denounces these racist acts under the pretext of ‘Freedom of Thought and Expression!”

أدان نائب الأمين العام للمؤتمر القومي العربي الدكتور ماهر الطاهر جريمة إحراق القرءان الكريم في السويد والدانمارك.
وقال الطاهر، في تصريحٍ له، إنّها “ليست المرة الأولى التي يتم فيها الاعتداء على مشاعر المسلمين ورموزهم، مما يؤكد أن ما يجري ليس عملاً عفويا أو تصرفات فردية، بل هو نهج عدواني عنصري منظم يستخف ويسيء لمشاعر كل المسلمين في العالم أجمع”.
وأضاف الطاهر، إنّ “المؤتمر القومي العربي يدين ويستنكر بشدة هذه الممارسات العنصرية تحت حجة حرية الرأي والتعبير”، داعيًا إلى “القيام بأوسع حملة لوضع حد لهذه الممارسات والجرائم التي تستهدف خلق الكراهية والحقد بين الشعوب، ومحاكمة كل من يقوم بمثل هذه الأعمال الحاقدة”.
