During 1991, the Trotskyite (Reactionary) leaders of Russia destroyed the ‘Socialist’ Revolution earned by Lenin in 1917 – not only for itself – but also for the fourteen other countries that comprised the USSR and countries of the so-called ‘Communist Bloc’ of Eastern Europe (the latter liberated after 1945). Some elements of the Russian workers and military did try to oppose this betrayal – but the ‘new’ Bourgeois Russian State used its capitalistic forces to brutally ‘put-down’ this early resistance to this form of oppression! Nevertheless, Russia’s betrayers allowed themselves to be directed by the US and imported the Western capitalist system wholesale! This transformation involved the inclusion of Neo-Fascism and Extreme Religiosity for around decade (between 1991-20o0) – attitudes and opinions designed to ‘destroy’ as quickly as possible – the accrued ‘Socialist’ education that had dominated the Soviet space between 1917-1991.
A racist ‘Nationalism’ replaced a multicultural ‘Internationalism’ – and a bigoted ‘Religiosity’ replaced State ‘Atheism’! Modern Russians mistakenly believe that the predatory capitalism they now adhere to was ‘invented’ by themselves – when it is merely a right-wing version of what already exists in the West! In just thirty-two years, all the progression and advancement achieved during the seventy-four years of the existence of the USSR has been destroyed and replaced by a purely fascist ideology that is now beginning to openly clash with the norms of Bourgeois ‘Human Rights’ in a manner that cannot be justified and supported by those who have hitherto defended Russia’s right to oppose Western Neo-Nazism in the Ukraine! The definition of the ‘liberalism’ that Russia is attempting to oppose (and which many Russians state is a purely ‘Western’ invention) is laughable in the extent of its US-style anti-intellectualism! Russia’s sense of ‘victimhood’ and ‘entitlement’ in this area reeks of bourgeoise hypocrisy and sentimentality! Certainly, Russia’s blatant militarism in Ukraine – regardless of the regime of Ukraine – cannot be justified through it!
For seventy-four years the Bourgeoise (capitalist) State decreed that in order to ‘prevent’ the Western working-class organising around the banner of Scientific Socialism (Marxist-Leninism) and demanding a Socialist Revolution (effectively joining ‘Internationally’ with the USSR) – a policy should be pursued that allows (and encourages) various working-class and Bourgeois avenues of development to be declared ‘progressive’ and actively ‘facilitated’! It was the direct (perceived) threat of the Soviet Red Army coming to the aid of the Western working-class that encouraged the Bourgeoise State to ‘liberalise’ Western society! This included art and cultural creativity of many different types, as well as the ideals of anti-racism, Internationalism, peace and gender studies. Modern Russia rejects all these attributes the USSR helped to shape and structure in the West!
Whereas the USSR was tolerant, Internationalist, multicultural, anti-racist and supportive of the rights of women – modern Russia is ‘Nationalistic’, religionist, racist, misogynist and homophobic! These are right-wing ideas ‘imported’ into Russia from the capitalist West that have NOTHING to do with the USSR! Modern Russians are living in a Western economic system, following a Western religion and expressing a Western form of fascism – but the ‘liberalism’ Russia is opposing today was developed in the West between 1917-1991! A similar argument can be made for the ‘decadence’ associated with the ‘Weimar Republic’ (1918-1933) – a process which involved a ‘mirroring’ within German society of the apparent ‘freedom’ perceived as existing in the USSR! Russia has been historically responsible for most of the ills it has been suffering since betraying its own Socialist Revolution in 1991! Spouting fascist rhetoric and threatening warfare is the behaviour of the far-right – and makes Russia no better than the Neo-Nazi Ukraine it is opposing!
