Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Laos Communist Party and President of the Laos People’s Democratic Republic (LPDR) – expressed his greetings on the occasion of ending the old (Buddhist) year of 2565 and welcoming the New (Buddhist) Year of 2566 (which counts the years since the historical Buddha was born in India – according to the Theravada School) – a Buddhist New Year which possesses the following attributes of:
Respect and Loving Kindness for ALL Beings Everywhere!
The year 2565, which is about to pass, is another year in which the people of Laos have united through difficulties and international challenges, and it is a year in which our nation continues to benefit from Socialist Peace and Political Stability whilst economic development continues to grow at a steady pace! As Laos rejects capitalism (and war) – the lives of the People have improved because our country has been able to expand cooperation with friendly countries, to expand investment and tourism without exploiting people, and to control the spread of Covid-19 to a very high level!
The above-mentioned achievements are due to the ownership of the means of production by all the Laos People – including all ethnic groups – who have maintained and enhanced the good (Buddhist-Socislist) heritage of our nation, united as a class of Peasants and Workers whilst implementing the Resolutions passed during the 11th Congress of the Laos Communist Party – which strongly advocates the continuation of the implementation of the National Economic-Social Development Plan (No. 9)! I would like to take this opportunity to praise and congratulate the success achieved throughout the past year with all my heart!
Dear friends in the Dharma, Comrades and Compatriots!
The New Buddhist Year of 2566 is about to start – it is another year in which we still have to face obstacles and challenges! Therefore, I would like to call on the entire Communist Party, the State, the Armed Forces and all the People of Laos to preserve and enhance the good (Buddhist) heritage of our nation, to enhance the unity that is a already strong bond, to focus all our strength through encouragement and intelligence in the mission of protecting and developing our nation, and to push the implementation of the two National Agendas (Buddhist and Socialist) into a more formal and integrated order as a means of self-strengthening – in this way we can create a strong and deep transformation in all fields of work in the coming year!
On this auspicious occasion of welcomeing the coming (Buddhist) New Year (2566) – I would like to send my best wishes to ALL my compatriots and to my Laotian brothers and sisters living abroad as well as ALL foreigners across the world! Do your duty and support and protect the Socialist Revolution and the Laos People’s Democratic Republic (LPDR)! May you all be happy and comfortable, free from suffering and full of health and progress in all aspects throughout the New Buddhist Year of 2566! May this New Buddhist Year bring greater success and happiness to the Socialist People of Laos!

ປີເຖາະ ພ.ສ 2566 ທີ່ຈະກ້າວເຂົ້າມານີ້, ກໍເປັນອີກປີໜຶ່ງ ທີ່ພວກເຮົາຍັງຕ້ອງໄດ້ປະເຊີນໜ້າກັບອຸປະສັກ ແລະ ສິ່ງທ້າທາຍທົດສອບຕໍ່ໄປອີກ. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ, ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ ຂໍຮຽກຮ້ອງມາຍັງທົ່ວພັກ, ທົ່ວລັດ, ທົ່ວກຳລັງປະກອບອາວຸດ ແລະ ທົ່ວປວງຊົນລາວທຸກຖ້ວນໜ້າ ຕ້ອງໄດ້ພ້ອມກັນຮັກສາ ແລະ ເສີມຂະຫຍາຍມູນເຊື້ອອັນດີງາມ ຂອງຊາດເຮົາ, ເພີ່ມທະວີຄວາມສາມັກຄີ ອັນເປັນປຶກແຜ່ນແໜ້ນໜາ, ສຸມທຸກກຳລັງແຮງ, ກຳລັງໃຈ ແລະ ສະຕິປັນຍາ ເຂົ້າໃນພາລະກິດປົກປັກຮັກສາ ແລະ ພັດທະນາປະເທດຊາດເຮົາ, ຍູ້ແຮງການປະຕິບັດສອງວາລະແຫ່ງຊາດ ໃຫ້ເປັນຮູບປະທຳຫລາຍຂຶ້ນ ເພື່ອແນໃສ່ສ້າງຄວາມເຂັ້ມແຂງດ້ວຍຕົນເອງ, ສ້າງການຫັນປ່ຽນທີ່ແຂງແຮງ ແລະ ເລິກ ເຊິ່ງ ໃນທຸກຂົງເຂດວຽກງານ ໃນຕະຫລອດປີເຖາະ ທີ່ຈະມາເຖິງນີ້.
ເນື່ອງໃນໂອກາດ ອັນເປັນສີຣິມຸງຄຸນ ເພື່ອຕ້ອນຮັບປີໃໝ່(ປີເຖາະ ພ.ສ 2566) ທີ່ຈະມາເຖິງນີ້, ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ ຂໍສົ່ງຄຳອວຍພອນໄຊອັນປະເສີດ ມາຍັງພີ່ນ້ອງຮ່ວມຊາດ ຕະຫລອດເຖິງພີ່ນ້ອງເຊື້ອຊາດລາວ ທີ່ອາໄສຢູ່ຕ່າງປະ ເທດ ກໍຄື ຊາວຕ່າງປະເທດທີ່ດຳລົງຊີວິດ, ປະຕິບັດໜ້າທີ່ ແລະ ທຳມາຫາກິນ ຢູ່ ສປປ ລາວ ຂໍໃຫ້ທຸກໆທ່ານ ຈົ່ງມີຄວາມສຸກກາຍສະບາຍໃຈ, ປາສະຈາກໂລກໄພໄຂ້ເຈັບ, ມີພະລານາໄມສົມບູນ ແລະ ມີຄວາມຈະເລີນກ້າວໜ້າທຸກປະການ ຕະຫລອດປີໃໝ່ ພ.ສ 2566 ແລະ ຂໍໃຫ້ປີໃໝ່ລາວປີນີ້, ຈົ່ງເປັນປີທີ່ນໍາເອົາຜົນສຳເລັດໃໝ່ ໃຫຍ່ຫລວງກວ່າເກົ່າ ແລະ ຄວາມຢູ່ເຢັນເປັນສຸກ ມາສູ່ປວງຊົນລາວທັງຊາດດ້ວຍເຖີ້ນ!
