The situation of the National Electrical Power System has been particularly tense in recent days.
For today, a deficit of more than 2 thousand MW is forecasted during the peak demand or nighttime hours.
This dramatic worsening has a single cause: the genocidal energy blockade that the US imposes on our country, threatening with irrational tariffs any nation that supplies us with fuel.
This Wednesday, for example, the power generation deficit in #Cuba due to fuel unavailability, caused by this criminal siege, amounts to 1,100 MW.
The best demonstration of what we affirm is in the significant improvement of the service in the month of April. The entry into Cuban ports of a single fuel ship, out of the minimum of eight needed each month, allowed to reduce the deficit and with it the power outages that, although they did not completely disappear, managed to attenuate.
In recent days, US media that serve the bellicose agenda of federal agencies of that country, showed dismay in the face of the heroic resistance of the Cuban people, and the firmness and unwavering unity of our Government.
They have had to recognize that, despite the cruel economic and energy suffocation measures that the US has decreed, Cuba is still standing, it is not a failed state.
They admit that the crisis that afflicts us is the result of the severe economic war imposed on us and the energy persecution.
In summary: what the spokespersons of the US regime try to show to the world as a direct consequence of a bad management of the Cuban Government, is actually the result of a perverse plan that aims to push the shortages and difficulties of the people to extreme levels.
Neither the blockade implemented more than six decades ago, nor the 243 measures of intensification imposed by the previous Trump administration, could destroy the Revolution.
That’s why they adopted an executive order that completely blocks the supply of fuel to Cuba and another that persecutes and penalizes those who trade or invest in Cuba.
It’s a perverse design whose main objective is the suffering of the entire people, to take them hostage and lead them against the Government.
The relaxation of some blockade measures a few years ago undoubtedly showed how much the peoples of Cuba and the US, the trade relations between both countries and the economic and social development of our nation could benefit from the absence of this draconian policy.
A small group of ultra-rightists who have hijacked the policy towards Cuba and lie or deliberately and cynically misinform about the Cuban reality, while demanding more suffocation and threats against our people, fear this improvement.
Our response remains the same: always willing to dialogue on equal terms, we will continue to resist and create, convinced more and more that it is up to us to overcome the enormous difficulties with our own efforts, united as a nation, and firm to face the most difficult challenges.
