Blogger’s Note: Within the UK’s Chinese community, particularly amongst the elderly male population, gambling is considered something of an establish pastime (a habit from old feudal China). I know this because my family used to operate an Accounts business in the UK that specialised in serving the Chinese community. Within Gerrard Street (London’s China Town) the old Victorian buildings possess extensive cellars that hae been converted into night time casinos and knocking shops (brothels). Men who worked hard all week working in Chinese Take-Aways – often asked how much “profit” they possessed – and how much they could use at the weekends for “gambling” purposes. Although we did not condone this habit – the clients could do what they wanted with their own money – as the UK bourgeois government encourages “gambling” amongst the working class as a replacement to cut welfare and medical care, etc. This habit was imported into the UK in the early 1990s. Gambling existed before then – but was strictly controlled and confined to the periphery of culture. Today, following the demise of the USSR, gambling is celebrated and encouraged. Those who have nothing are encouraged to waste what little they have – so that “one” individual can be hideously enriched for no reason at all other than blind circumstance. The US, via its colonies of Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, encourage capitalistic Chinese people online to encourage gambling and the selling of sex. Selling sex often involves naïve teenage girls exposing their bodies on US social media – receiving thousands of dollars donated by White US males. As the donated amounts increase – the antics of the girls increase – until full-blown pornographic acts are performed. This is all in the name of the capitalistic practice of encouraging hyper-individuality – the essence of capitalist selfishness. The US believes that this bourgeois decadence will eventually penetrate the hinterland of the PRC and cause the CPC to collapse from within – but as you can see – this behaviour is entirely “illegal” within Socialist China – which is collectivist and provides everything each citizen requires to positively live their lives. (ECNS) — The Chinese Embassy in South Korea has rejected recent media reports that claimed Chinese tourists are the core growth engine in the casino industry in South Korea. The embassy urged Seoul to tighten oversight of the casino industry and curb gambling-related solicitation targeting Chinese visitors.
Tang Liang, counselor in charge of consular affairs at the Chinese Embassy in South Korea, wrote an article in the Korea Times, criticizing certain South Korean media claims that casinos should target returning Chinese tourists as their core growth engine and primary clientele, according to a post on the embassy’s WeChat account on Monday.
“We are deeply shocked by such remarks and firmly opposed to such practices, which warrant serious reconsideration,” Tang wrote.
He calls on South Korea, in the broader context of China-South Korea friendship, to regulate casino operations and stop gambling solicitation targeting Chinese tourists, according to the embassy.
Both China and South Korea have laws and policies that restrict gambling, the counselor said, adding that South Korea bars its own citizens from entering most casinos, while China maintains a zero-tolerance stance toward gambling and also prohibits Chinese citizens from gambling overseas.
“It is highly inappropriate for Korean casinos to conduct targeted marketing and recruitment specifically toward foreign nationals, especially Chinese people,” the article said, warning that such practices are entirely detrimental to bilateral people-to-people exchanges and offer no benefits whatsoever.
The counselor also called on South Korea to fulfill its regulatory responsibilities over tourism institutions, strictly standardize casino operations and put an end to gambling recruitment targeting Chinese tourists, according to the article.
