Today, Sunday, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine called for “leaving the arena of hateful political division, restoring unity through putting the Palestinian house in order and restoring the idea that the Palestine Liberation Organization should be the sole legitimate representative of our people! This will provide a political, economic and social programme that expresses the identity of our people (and its strategic goals of Unity and Return) whilst establishing an independent Palestinian State – on reclaimed Palestinian national soil!”
This is a statement it issued on the occasion of International Labour Day which saw the PFLP called for “Rehabilitation of the Palestinian Trade Union Movement by ending the state of fragmentation in which the besieged Palestinian people are living, and uniting in order to struggle and achieve the demands of the International Labour Movement which represents liberation, emancipation, an end to exploitation and the implementing of laws and legislation that guarantee the freedoms required for Trade Union work whilst rejecting all attempts of outside hindrance.” Exclusively preventing the hindrance and sabotage found within Palestinian Labour Institutions – thus stopping the disrupting of internal elections by these external forces!
The PFLP stressed the need to “Strengthen the role of women and enable them to participate in Trade Union and social work, given its importance in building society, and addressing the issues of unemployment and poverty, in a way that guarantees the achievement of dignity and justice for all segments of our people.” The PFLP also called for “Reducing taxes and customs on imports in a way that enhances purchasing power and eases the burden on people.” The statement was issued by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on the occasion of International Labour Day.
The Palestinian working class has lived as an “Internationalist” symbol of progressive national, political, economic and social struggle! Our Palestinian people – our brave workers! Today, we and the peoples of the world celebrate International Labour Day – which has become a symbol of resistance to injustice, persecution and capitalist greed! We strive to accelerate positive global change with the aim of building a new multipolar world in defiance of exclusivity and imperial domination of peoples and their labour and resorces! We strive to secure honest work for masses through organisation and thereby prevent the increase of the spread of poverty and forced migration throughout the many regions of the world – including the Arab region!
This day of International Labour comes in light of the reality experienced by our people, including our workers, in all places of their presence! Their suffering has increased in light of the fact that we are migrants in our own country – this experience has formed as an important component of our people’s conditioning – caused by the continuation of the Occupation’s terrorism inside Palestine! With multitudinous methods, including aggressive practices and measures, the destruction of the Palestinian economic (and productive sector) has been subjected has been a major tactic of the Zionist agressors! This has been the simple and systematic attempt at destroying Palestinian independence – with the aim of ensuring the continuity of our subordination to the enemy’s economy. Our people.. Our glorious workers have withstood this Zionist oppression with outstanding Stoicism! The steel of our “Internationalist” workers will not bend to zionist aggression!
After seventeen years of division in the Palestinian arena at the political and geographical levels, and what has multiplied it in terms of the costs, burdens, and requirements of life and living – the phenomenon of unemployment and the unemployed has increased! This has been seen especially among the youth and graduates with poverty and extreme poverty becoming a generalized phenomenon – in addition to the increase in the rate of taxes, customs and fees on Goods, the decline in the level of domestic production, the decline in the level and value of exports and the increase in dependence on importing food and industrial goods! This impoverishment has lead to the failure of granting poor families their entitlements from Social Security! In the absence of changing the existing model of power – this situation has harmed all aspects of economic development, social development and healthcare.
In face of this miserable and bitter reality, we in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine celebrate our great workers and our great people, as we pledge to them that we will continue the struggle to achieve freedom and build an advanced society on the foundations of social and economic justice! We will do this in the following ways:
1- Leaving the arena of the hateful political division whilst restoring unity through putting the Palestinian house in order, and rehabilitating the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole legitimate representative of our people! We will build a political, economic, and social programme that expresses the identity of our people and its strategic goals of unity, return and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State on liberated Palestinian national soil.
2- Rehabilitation of the Palestinian Trade Union Movement by ending the state of fragmentation in which it is living, uniting for the sake of struggle and realizing the demands of the Labour Movement represented in liberation, emancipation and an end to its exploitation, the existence of laws and legislation that guarantee the freedoms of Trade Union work, rejecting attempts of interference from external forces – particularly seen within Labour Institutions – which are designed to disrupt the internal elections of these Unions.
3- Enhancing the role of women and enabling them to participate in Trade Union and social work, due to its importance in building society.
4- Addressing the issues of unemployment and poverty in a way that guarantees dignity and justice for all segments of our people.
5- Reducing taxes and customs on imports in a way that enhances purchasing power and eases the burden on people.
6- We call on the Official Institutions and the Ministry of Labour (and its Offices) to fulfil their imtended function of monitoring establishments and factories to ensure that workers receive wages that preserve their dignity, their right to weekly and annual leave, and their right to end-of-service benefits.
7- Re-opening the Social Security Department, realizing its application and building an Insurance Institution, with its importance in organizing the lives of workers and contributing to the development of their social and economic reality.
8- Enacting a set of procedures and measures to ensure the protection of price ceiling for agricultural and industrial products, in a way that guarantees that owners do not incur heavy losses.
9- We call on employers to shoulder their national and moral responsibilities towards their workers in a way that maintains a balanced relationship between rights and duties.
10- Enact the minimum wage law and oblige institutions and employers to apply it.
11- Create a Trade Union law that reflects the aspiration of the Palestinian Trade Union Movement.
12- Re-addressing and developing the Palestinian Labour Law.
Long live the Palestinian working class in its glorious day!
Long live May 1st – “International Labour Day” – as a symbol of the struggle and determination of all free people!
Glory to the Martyrs!
Freedom for the Prisoners and speedy recovery to the wounded!

الشعبيّة تدعو لإعادة الاعتبار للحركة النقابية الفلسطينية والتوحّد من أجل النضال وتحقيق مطالب العمّال

دعت الجبهة الشعبيّة لتحرير فلسطين، اليوم الأحد، إلى “مغادرة مربع الانقسام السياسي البغيض، واستعادة الوحدة، وذلك من خلال ترتيب البيت الداخلي الفلسطيني، وإعادة الاعتبار إلى منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية ممثلاً شرعياً وحيداً لشعبنا، ببرنامج سياسي واقتصادي واجتماعي يعبر عن هوية شعبنا وأهدافه الاستراتيجية في الوحدة والعودة، وإقامة الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة على كل التراب الوطني الفلسطيني”.
وفي بيانٍ أصدرته بمناسبة عيد العمّال العالمي، دعت الجبهة إلى “إعادة الاعتبار للحركة النقابية الفلسطينية من خلال إنهاء حالة التشرذم التي تعيشها، والتوحد من أجل النضال وتحقيق مطالب الحركة العمالية المتمثلة في التحرر والانعتاق وإنهاء استغلالها، ووجود قوانين وتشريعات تكفل حريات العمل النقابي ورفض محاولات الوصاية والتفرد في المؤسسات العمالية وتعطيل الانتخابات الداخلية لهذه الاتحادات”.
وشدّدت على ضرورة “تعزيز دور المرأة وتمكينها من المشاركة في العمل النقابي والاجتماعي لما في ذلك من أهمية في بناء المجتمع، ومعالجة قضيتي البطالة والفقر، بما يضمن تحقيق الكرامة والعدالة لجميع فئات شعبنا”.
كما طالبت الجبهة “بتخفيض الضرائب والجمارك على الواردات بما يعزز القدرة الشرائية وتخفيف العبء عن الناس”.

عاشت الطبقة العاملة الفلسطينية رمزًا للنضال الوطني السياسي والاقتصادي والاجتماعي،
أبناء شعبنا الفلسطيني.. عمالنا البواسل،
نحتفل وشعوب العالم هذا اليوم بعيد العمال العالمي والذي أصبح رمزًا لمقاومة الظلم والاضطهاد والجشع الرأسمالي، في ظل متغيرات عالمية متسارعة بهدف بناء عالم جديد متعدد الأقطاب في مواجهة التفرد والهيمنة الإمبريالية على الشعوب ومقدراتها والتي كان من أهم نتائجها شن الحروب وسرقة ثروات ومقدرات الشعوب وارتفاع نسبة العاطلين عن العمل وزيادة واتساع ظاهرة الفقر والهجرة في العديد من مناطق العالم ومنها المنطقة العربية بشكل رئيسي.
يأتي هذا اليوم في ظل واقع يعيشه شعبنا ومنهم عمالنا في كافة أماكن تواجده، وقد ازدادت معاناتهم في ظل اللجوء الخارجي لمكون مهم من شعبنا واستمرار إرهاب الاحتلال في داخل فلسطين؛ بأساليب متعدد الأشكال والممارسات والإجراءات العدوانية، ومنها ما تعرض له القطاع الاقتصادي والإنتاجي الفلسطيني على بساطته لتدمير ممنهج، بهدف ضمان استمرارية تبعيته لاقتصاد العدو.
أبناء شعبنا.. عمالنا الأماجد..
بعد سبعة عشر عامًا من الانقسام الذي تعيشه الساحة الفلسطينية على المستويين السياسي والجغرافي وما ضاعفه من تكاليف وأعباء ومتطلبات حياتية ومعيشية، حيث ازدادت ظاهرة البطالة والعاطلين عن العمل وخاصة بين فئة الشباب والخريجين، وبات الفقر والفقر المدقع ظاهرة معممة، إضافة لزيادة نسبة الضرائب والجمارك والرسوم على البضائع، وتراجع مستوى الإنتاج المحلي، وتراجع مستوى وقيمة التصدير وزيادة الاعتماد على استيراد البضائع الغذائية والصناعية،… وصولًا لعدم الوفاء للأسر الفقيرة بمستحقاتها من الضمان الاجتماعي، في ظل غياب القدرة على إنجاز نموذج تنموي بديل لنموذج السلطة القائم، بحيث انعكس كل ذلك بالضرر الكبير على مناحي الحياة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والصحية كافة.
أمام هذا الواقع البائس والمرير، فإننا في الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين ونحن نحتفل وعمالنا وشعبنا، نعاهدكم أن نستمر بالنضال من أجل تحقيق الحرية وبناء مجتمع متقدم على أسس العدالة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، وعلى طريق ذلك تحقيق ما يلي:
1- مغادرة مربع الانقسام السياسي البغيض، واستعادة الوحدة وذلك من خلال ترتيب البيت الداخلي الفلسطيني وإعادة الاعتبار إلى منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية ممثلاً شرعياً وحيداً لشعبنا، ببرنامج سياسي واقتصادي واجتماعي يعبر عن هوية شعبنا وأهدافه الاستراتيجية في الوحدة والعودة وإقامة الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة على كل التراب الوطني الفلسطيني.
2- إعادة الاعتبار للحركة النقابية الفلسطينية من خلال إنهاء حالة التشرذم التي تعيشها، والتوحد من أجل النضال وتحقيق مطالب الحركة العمالية المتمثلة في التحرر والانعتاق وإنهاء استغلالها، ووجود قوانين وتشريعات تكفل حريات العمل النقابي ورفض محاولات الوصاية والتفرد في المؤسسات العمالية وتعطيل الانتخابات الداخلية لهذه الاتحادات.
3- تعزيز دور المرأة وتمكينها من المشاركة في العمل النقابي والاجتماعي لما لذلك من أهمية في بناء المجتمع.
4- معالجة قضيتي البطالة والفقر، بما يضمن تحقيق الكرامة والعدالة لجميع فئات شعبنا.
5- تخفيض الضرائب والجمارك على الواردات بما يعزز القدرة الشرائية وتخفيف العبء عن الناس.
6- ندعو المؤسسات الرسمية ووزارة العمل ومكاتبها إلى تفعيل دورها في الرقابة على المنشآت والمصانع بما يضمن حصول العمال على أجر يحافظ على كرامتهم وحقهم في الإجازة الأسبوعية والسنوية وحقهم في مستحقات نهاية الخدمة.
7- إعادة فتح ملف الضمان الاجتماعي وتحقيق تطبيقه، وبناء مؤسسة للضمان بما لذلك من أهمية في تنظيم حياة العمال والمساهمة في تنمية واقعهم الاجتماعي والاقتصادي.
8- سن مجموعة من الإجراءات والتدابير لضمان حماية سقف أسعار المنتجات الزراعية والصناعية، بما يضمن عدم تكبد خسائر فادحة لأصحابها.
9- ندعو أصحاب العمل أن يتحملوا مسؤولياتهم الوطنية والأخلاقية تجاه عمالهم بما يحافظ على علاقة متوازنة ما بين الحقوق والواجبات.
10- سن قانون الحد الأدنى للأجور وإلزام المؤسسات وأصحاب العمل بتطبيقه.
11- إيجاد قانون للنقابات يعكس طموح الحركة النقابية الفلسطينية.
12- إعادة نقاش وتطوير قانون العمل الفلسطيني.
عاشت الطبقة العاملة الفلسطينية في يومها المجيد،
عاش الأول من أيار رمزًا لكفاح ونضال كل الأحرار،
المجد للشهداء.. والحرية للأسرى.. والشفاء العاجل للجرحى
