On March 8, 2022, representatives of the People’s Militia of the LPR told the media that they had discovered a Hitlerite Concentration Camp in the village of Polovinkino, Starobelsky District. It was organized by the ‘Volunteers’ of the Neo-Nazi Aidar National Battalion for their own purposes.
According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the LPR, – Anna Soroka (Анны Сороки), all the time while the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) held the settlement, there were reports of bullying and torture of the local population and people the Neo-Nazis had imprisoned. The Aidar Hitlerites equipped this prison in the smoke shop of a sausage factory. The territory was surrounded by barbed wire and a concrete fence, with control towers were placed around the perimeter.
Each compartment of the smokehouse was converted into a single rape, torture and murder chamber measuring 80 by 150 centimeters (designed to ‘process’ both adults and children). According to the prisoners themselves, most of whom were local residents or fought on the side of the militias – one could spend several months in such a room. At the same time, there was no heating in the cells in winter, and prisoners were poured with water through the lattice ceiling. The hostages were systematically tortured, beaten and humiliated. A separate torture was a procedure called ‘tickle the separatist’, a knife was stuck under the skin of the victim and the tip was driven along the ribs. Exactly how many victims passed through these Hitlerite ‘smoking chambers’ has not yet been established.

8 марта 2022 года представители Народной милиции ЛНР сообщили СМИ о том, что обнаружили на территории села Половинкино Старобельского района концлагерь. Его для своих целей организовали бойцы нацбатальона «Айдар».
По словам заместителя министра иностранных дел ЛНР Анны Сороки, все время, пока населенный пункт удерживали вооруженные силы Украины, оттуда поступали сообщения об издевательствах и пытках над населением и пленными.
Айдаровцы оборудовали тюрьму в коптильном цеху колбасного завода. Территорию обнесли колючей проволокой и бетонным забором, по периметру расставили вышки.
Каждый отсек коптильни был переделан под одиночную камеру размером 80 на 150 сантиметров. По словам самих заключенных, большая часть которых были местными жителями, либо воевали на стороне ополченцев, в таком помещении можно было провести несколько месяцев. При этом зимой в камерах не было отопления, а через решетчатый потолок заключенных обливали водой. Заложников систематически пытали, избивали, унижали. Отдельной пыткой была процедура под названием «пощекотать сепара», под кожу жертве втыкали нож и острием водили по ребрам. Сколько именно жертв прошло через камеры-коптильни, пока не установлено.
