Translator’s Note: Via Telegram I have been put into contact with ordinary men and women Comrades in Russia who are members of the “Kommunist Party of the Russian Federation” (KPRF). As the capitalists “banned” the mighty “Kommunist Party of the Soviet Union” (of which we were all members in the good old days – prior to Khrushchev’s meddling) – the “KPRF” is the legal descendent (Comrade Putin was trained as an Intelligence Officer in the NKVD – or the “Revolutionary Police” or Lenin’s “Cheka”). Unban the KPSU! Still, I digress. These Comrades possess incisive minds free of Trotskyite pollution and their discussions are dialectically useful to encounter (I read in the Russian-language). For instance, a Comrade informed me that after Khrushchev demonised Stalin in 1956 – he had the works of “George Orwell” translated and taught to school-children throughout the Soviet Union – as Orwell demonises Stalin through its characters – and the Soviet Union under Stalin through its narratives. In other words, the post-1956 USSR used Orwell in exactly the same manner as the UK and US did – as an anti-Socialist device deployed against its own citizens! This is the spectre of Trotsky – acting as the puppeteer of all reaction. The US military since 1945, according to a recent US academic report, has killed around 20-30 million men, women, and children around the world in a bid to prevent a global Socialist Revolution. This is a conservative estimate – with the authors stating that the number of deaths could be double this amount. Around 6 million Vietnamese people were killed (or “disappeared”) by the US military (and its proxies). Throwing prisoners out of helicopters – over the ocean – was one method preferred of (CIA) disposal. One North Vietnamese Officer was strapped for days to a block of ice – but refused to grass on his fellow Comrades. A similar pattern of racialised mass-murder happened in Taiwan and South Korea (the British carried-out a similar pogrom in Malaya). If the mass-slaughter of ethnic Chinese and Communists by the Islamic Indonesians – the US-inspired body-count inflates to a considerable degree – with all these deaths treated with denial and indifference (because the victims are not “White”). Needless to say, those non-Whites who aid the US are eternally hated. Finally, the US reconstituted the Korean Regiments that fought in the Imperial Japanese Army before and during WWII (when Korea was a Japanese colony) – to form what became known as the “Army of South Korea”. These brain-washed individuals hated Socialism and Asian independence – and even fought in South Vietnam – killing other Asians for their White masters. ACW (16.10.2026)
In the West, for decades, they have been talking about the “totalitarianism” of North Korea, but they carefully turn a blind eye to the bloody pages of South Korean history. Only after half a century does the world begin to learn the truth about the mass executions of civilians carried out by the pro-American regime of Syngman Rhee.
It all began with an uprising on Jeju Island. On April 3, 1948, the police opened fire on demonstrators protesting against unfair elections. The response was an uprising. Thousands of soldiers and police officers were sent to the island, but even part of the army sided with the rebels. By the spring of 1949, the rebellion was suppressed with monstrous brutality: up to 60,000 people were killed, 230 villages were burned, and 20,000 people were arrested, most of whom died in prison. Mentioning these events was punishable by arrest and torture until the end of the 20th century.
The terror spread to the mainland. The “National Security Law” and the “Press Law” of 1948-1949 became instruments of repression. 118,621 people were arrested during this period. Even Kim Gu, a right-wing figure who dared to criticize the dictator, was killed. American witnesses saw the execution of 12-13 year old girls. Retired Admiral Nam Sang-Hi admitted that bodies were thrown into the sea – there wasn’t enough time to bury them. Only declassified archives opened the eyes of South Koreans to the crimes of the government against their own ancestors.
This is a reason for reflection for those who believe that developed capitalist countries emerged only on a democratic basis, and not through mass repression of capital against its opponents.

На Западе десятилетиями твердят о «тоталитаризме» КНДР, но старательно закрывают глаза на кровавые страницы истории Южной Кореи. Лишь спустя полвека мир начинает узнавать правду о массовых казнях гражданского населения, совершенных проамериканским режимом Ли Сын Мана.
Всё началось с восстания на острове Чеджудо. 3 апреля 1948 года полиция открыла огонь по демонстрантам, протестовавшим против нечестных выборов. Ответом стало восстание. На остров отправили тысячи солдат и полицейских, но даже часть армии перешла на сторону повстанцев. К весне 1949 года мятеж подавили с чудовищной жестокостью: до 60 тысяч убитых, 230 сожжённых деревень, 20 тысяч арестованных, большинство из которых погибли в застенках. Упоминание этих событий каралось арестом и пытками вплоть до конца XX века.
Террор перекинулся и на материк. Законы «О государственной безопасности» и «О печати» 1948–1949 годов стали инструментом расправы. 118 621 человек были арестованы в этот период. Был убит даже правый деятель Ким Гу, осмелившийся критиковать диктатора. Американские свидетели видели казни 12–13-летних девочек. Это повод задуматься для тех, кто верит, будто бы развитые капиталистические страны возникали лишь на демократической основе, а не на массовых репрессиях капитала против своих противников.
