Blogger’s Note: I have no personal sympathy for an ethnic Chinese woman who sides with the racist Republican Party in the US – when a great deal of that racism is aimed at other ethnic Chinese born in the US – and visiting from China. Like many in her privileged position – she probably thought her White husband would protect her from the anti-China racism which is very strong throughout the US. That allusion has been well and truly shattered. The Trumptards have accused him of betraying his race by coupling with the enemy – and her with treason. This is a woman who once served G W Bush – so the bar is as about as low as it could possibly get. At the moment, the Trumptards are carrying-out a pogrom aimed at ethnic Chinese people who are suspected of showing any signs of support or admiration for China. A former San Fransico Mayor – and her husband (both ethnic Chinese) – have been imprisoned for “Treason” for publishing the type of articles I routinely pass-on everyday – and for stating there is no genocide in Xinjiang. This is the tip of the iceberg and no one cares. The Human Rights of Chinese people are being abused in the US and EU to Nazi German proportions. It is even happening in the UK – where White British are also being imprisoned for drawing attention to the thousands of Hong Kong Rioters that currently roam our streets – all wanted for criminal activity in China (ethnic Chinese not liking these criminals are also harassed by the British State). These anti-Socialist criminals had their 2020 riots funded by the very West that now grants them sanctuary. An interesting twist is that they “pretend” to be “Christian” as a means to get automatic visas on the fake grounds of religious persecution. Other Chinese people do not like them – and they keep away from the mainstream – rather like the bery dangerous Falun Gong and Eastern Lightning Cults. The far-right states that the White intolerants should not trust Nigel Farage and his Reform UK party – as he has encouraged Hong Kong Rioters to be members – and has promised them that in return for their support – he will bring over to the UK hundreds of thousands more of their Rioting relatives! Meanwhile, Mainland Chinese students studying in the US – are often illegally held in detention with no food, water, light, blankets, or proper toilets – whilst US officials quiz them on their relationship with the Communist Party. (ECNS) — Dennis Wilder, a U.S. international relations scholar and former CIA and National Security Council official, has sharply criticized right-wing Republican figures who attacked former Cabinet member Elaine Chao over a visit to a Shanghai kindergarten.
Some right-wing figures have criticized Chao and her husband, Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, over her June visit to a kindergarten in Shanghai, accusing her of having close ties to China.
Chao served as U.S. Secretary of Labour in the administration of George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009 and as U.S. Secretary of Transportation in the first administration of Donald Trump from 2017 to 2021.
On June 14, she attended an event at a kindergarten in Malu township, Jiading district, Shanghai, showcasing the school’s achievements and celebrating the graduation of its senior kindergarten class of 2026.
According to information previously released by local authorities, the kindergarten was renovated in 1994 with a $100,000 donation from Chao’s father, James S.C. Chao. The school was later renamed after his father, Zhao Yiren.
The visit has since become a target of political attacks against Chao and her husband McConnell.
Tensions between McConnell and the Republican Party’s right-wing populist wing have grown in recent years. Some figures in the faction have sought to blame Chao for McConnell’s clashes with them, making unsubstantiated allegations that she has ties to Beijing and acts on China’s instructions to influence her husband.
The Daily Caller, a conservative media outlet aligned with the party’s right wing, went further in a recent article targeting Chao.
It claimed the kindergarten had military connections and suggested it served as a meeting place for Chao and Chinese officials. The article pointed to children’s performances featuring themes related to the spirit of the Long March and dances in camouflage clothing as evidence.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Wilder said he was “petrified,” mocking the outlet’s portrayal of the children’s activities as a security concern.
“Combat training for children in diapers. Please stop. You are embarrassing yourself,” he said.
In a separate post, Wilder ridiculed the outlet’s claims, writing: “Good God! Supporting a kindergarten in Shanghai is now considered treasonous? Those 3-year-olds look extremely dangerous to me! The Daily Caller is really reaching on this one.”
