Iran: IRGC Navy Captures US [Unmanned] “Saildrone Explorer” Submarine! (11.9.2026)

Captured US Unmanned Submarine!

Blogger’s Note: On paper, US military might, coupled with its usual anti-intellectualism and media manipulation, should have rolled-over Iran fairly quickly. Why did this not happen? It is because Trump is not liked outside of America. If he was liked, and had not opposed the (bourgeois) “sacred cow” policy of not being friendly toward Russia, then I expect the UK and EU would have happily assisted the US in the invasion of Iran. After-all, the British RAF was bombing Yemen for Israel and the US under Sunak and Starmer. Ironically, it was Trump who called a halt to that policy. Iran appears to have prepared very well for asymmetric warfare. Short of a US ground invasion – the US has become trapped in a game it cannot win without drastically changing the battlefield – which it seems unable to do. Iran has achieved this impasse through sound (material) thinking and planning. It is not because of any divine assistance or godly help. It is a further irony that many commentators in the Middle East believe that this meticulous planning and preparation on the material plane just manifested “out-of-nothing”. It “just appeared” – which of course it did not. It was exactly because of a sound material approach to reality that Iran has achieved (so far) what it has. Of course, as a person of mature years, I do not view a “flying drone” to be an “enemy aeroplane” – or a “submergible drone” to be a legitimate “submarine”. Genuine “Submarines” are what my (maternal) grandfather defended against during WWII (Nazi German U-Boats). I have found footage of this 7-metre-long US Submarine reported “captured” in the Western media. It is true, the Iranians have captured a submergible US drone termed a “submarine” – attempting to enter the Iranian controlled Strait of Hormuz. This is yet another military and media humiliation for the US. This is a product of sound material analysis and planning. ACW (11.9.2026)

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy targeted an enemy unmannedd vessel, numbered 5838 and of the “Sea Drone” type, at the entrance to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, thereby thwarting its mission.

The IRGC Navy has targeted an American Saildrone Explorer unmanned surface vessel (USV) in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Saildrone Explorer is an approximately 7-metre-long, long-endurance USV equipped with cameras, communications systems, and various sensors for intelligence, surveillance, and maritime domain awareness (MDA) missions. It had previously been deployed in the region by the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet and Task Force 59, whose operations were based in Bahrain and focused on developing the U.S. Navy’s network of unmanned vessels and artificial intelligence.

The U.S. naval base in Bahrain was targeted by Iranian attacks during the war and was put out of service. The Saildrone is now being operated by a unit deployed along the Khasab, Oman axis.
