Taiwan Central Bank Redesign the New Taiwan Dollar - No Sun Yatsen!

China: Mainland Criticizes Taiwan DPP Banknote Redesign as ‘De-Sinicization’! (6.2.2026)

Blpgger’s Note: Sun Yatsen (1866-1925) was a very popular Hakka Chinese man who possessed the ability to appeal to both ethnic Chinese and Western people – equally. He engineered China’s 1911 Nationalist Revolution which overthrew the Chinese (Feudal) Imperialist System which had lasted over 4,000-years (China is the longest, continuous civilisation on earth). Initially, as a Hakka, Sun Yatsen led a left-leaning Nationalism – but following 1911 and the first reforms – right-wing factions came to the forefront and took-over the movement. This led to the US-backed Chiang Kai-Shek assuming power who carried-out mass-murders of Chinese people – and even attacked and burned-down the famous Shaolin Temple in Henan (during 1928) – as the Head Monk refused to align the Temple with US imperialist intentions (there was also Chinese Nationalists who were lay-disciples of the Shaolin Temple – and Chiang Kai-Shek considered this a threat to his political power). Indeed, this Nationalist lurch to the right led to the rise of the separate Communist Party of China (CPC) – which split from the Nationalist on ideological grounds (although the USSR advised a limited cooperation between the two camps during the Second Sino-Japanese War). The Nationalists deviated away from Sun Yatsen’s (distinctly “Chinese”) vision and embraced an incompatible US model of predatory capitalism and liberal democracy – two completely alien concepts to the ethnic Chinese mind. The CPC chose Marxist-Leninism and centralised democracy (which successfully culminated in the 1949 Socialist Revolution) – and this dichotomy explains the situation between Taiwan and the Mainland as it exists today. The Nationalists invaded Taiwan in the late 1940s and have dominated it ever since. Under Trump II – White (Eurocentric) attitudes are being inflicted once again throughout Taiwan society. (ECNS) – The Chinese mainland on Wednesday criticized Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party authorities for redesigning Taiwan dollar banknotes in a way it said promotes “de-Sinicization,” citing the removal of images of historical Chinese political figures such as Sun Yat-sen.

Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said the DPP was deliberately pushing the changes to weaken cultural and historical links between both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

“The DPP authorities are intentionally promoting the removal of Sun Yat-sen from the new banknotes in order to push ‘de-Sinicization’ and shape separatist ideology in Taiwanese society,” Chen said.

He added that such moves could not change “historical and legal facts” regarding cross-Strait relations, nor erase the “Chinese national identity of people in Taiwan.”
