Translator’s Note: Why does this matter? Why is the immensely powerful CPC bothering to give any attention to this apparently insignificant individual? Well, “Shi Ping” (石平) [b. 30.1.1962] is in fact an ethnic Chinese man who was sent to Japan in 1988 to pursue his education – but ended-up betraying his motherland (in 1989). The fake story broadcast by the US-controlled Wikipedia disinforms that Shi Ping decided to defect to Japan following what it terms the “disturbances” of 1989 in Beijing. The main problem with this story is that the 2011 Wikileaks disproved this “anti-regime” narrative the US has attempted to project.
Although the English-language Wikipedia demands that all other countries simply parrot (through translation) the anti-intellectualism the US produces – most “other language” Wikipedias tend to put some type of spin on the data pre-provided. On the “Zhongguo-Wikipedia” (usually presented as “Zh.Wikipedia”) there is another little story added that is completely false. In this fake narrative, all schools in China stopped in 1966 (when Shi Ping was 3-4 years old), and Shi Ping was sent to the countryside to live with his grandfather. Grandfather Shi, according to this fairy-tale, despite being an impoverished peasant, was also a traditional Chinese Doctor and a Confucian scholar.
This story is only for those diasporic Chinese eyes that are hostile to Socialist China. Despite supposedly possessing no formal education – Shi Ping suddenly graduated from a University the CPC sent him to – for free. In Japan, Shi Ping is known by the Japanese-name of “せきへい” (Seki Hei). He sides historically with Imperial Japan – and spends his time writing articles that “deny” Japanese War Crimes. He even lectures on the same subject, but here’s the irony – whilst not being ethnically “Japanese” – Shi Ping receives continues anti-China racism for not being Japanese! (ECNS) — The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Monday announced countermeasures against Seki Hei, a member of the House of Councillors of Japan’s National Diet, accusing him of long spreading fallacies on Taiwan, the Diaoyu Islands, Xinjiang, Xizang, and Hong Kong, and of openly visiting the Yasukuni Shrine.
His actions seriously violate the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan and the one-China principle, constitute grave interference in China’s internal affairs, and severely undermine China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the ministry said in a statement.
The countermeasures include freezing his movable and immovable properties and other types of assets within the territory of China, banning Chinese entities and individuals from dealings with him, and denying visas and entry to him and his immediate family members, including to Hong Kong and Macao. The decision takes effect on Monday, according to the statement.
