I have been watching and keeping my power dry. It is time to box-clever and not be caught in the searchlight. In 2017, on the day of our eldest daughter’s [Mei-An’s] birthday, the first truly leftwing Labour Party since 1945 was defeated by the fascistic Tories, albeit whilst giving a good account of itself (the Tories were severely dented but held onto power in our peculiar system). Me and Gee were literally broken-hearted. We had marched tens of miles carrying Red Flsgs during mass protests to protect the Disabled and Poor people and to save the NHS – Gee (being a tough woman of Chinese origin) marched five-miles through London whilst 8-months pregnant. Even then, on occasion a “White” leftist would walk past – laugh and point – saying something about “obese Ch’nks” and strutted-off attracting laughter from those around us.
This is when I realised the left is hideously compromised across the Western world. On one such March, we arrived in a large group (whilst never being fully accepted into it) carrying our Red Flag flying at Trafalgar Square (Central London) – and met a young woman wearing a striking headscarf (there was something about his woman that attracted us – usually we do not engage random approaches). This lady treated us as Comrades – and gave us a leaflet about the injustices suffered by the (Maoist) Workers’ Institute by the Tory government! Something good came out of all of this – but not what we wanted or intended.
I think Trump, being in-bed with Musk, now possesses a different set of right-wing and far-right objectives. Last-time, the traditional far-right believed they had got him into Office – and Trump acted as if this was true. I gather these Neo-Nazis were doing what they wanted in the Departments they controlled, more or less without Trump’s direct interference. At his Winning Speech today Trump talked about closing US Borders (fanatical cheers!) – whilst letting-in “legal” migrants (booing and murmuring!). Perhaps this weird dichotomy will define how Trump now rules – as since the (2021) Attack on Washington – Trump must be careful about how he uses and engages the far-right.
I suspect Mass Pardons for fascist (2021) rioters on the one-hand – with mass imprisonments of dissenters and batches of Executions on Federal Death Row (Indeed, Trump closed his last show with 16 such Executions). The Ukraine War will be brought to an end, whilst Israel will be given the Green Light to completely eradicate Palestine – with the US becoming directly involved with destroying Syria and Iran. An interesting question is whether Trump is willing for a direct war with China – as this will be a sticking-point – but then again Musk makes use of Chinese workers to make his EV’s, so who can tell?
