Jeremy Corbyn and Alexi Sayle are Trotskyites – but both have also masqueraded in the past as Marxist-Leninists! I knew NOTHING about Jeremy Corbyn when he was elected Leader of the Labour Party in 2015 – I had never heard of him – which is suspicious considering my far-left (Marxist-Leninist-Maoist) upbringing! I am proud of this and fear nothing. I was a little confused as the Labour media-arm were stating that Jeremy Corbyn was a far-leftist. As usual, I used my method of self-education and read a few books about Corbyn. He had an impressive left of centre political career – which at one time was not that different from many other people (in and out of Labour) during the 1970s and 1980s. I found he was a vegetarian and an animal rights supporter – but often made what I consider racially motivated comments about Socialist China.
Alexi Sayle was different as far as I am concerned – as I was brought up with Sayle’s BBC-produced comedy programme that was far-left in content – although he would sometimes make ridiculous anti-Stalin statements (Stalin – and the Soviet People – had fought and won WWII against the Nazi Germans). This type of “Proletariat” entertainment does not exist today on mainstrean television – neither is it allowed to exist! I was a little surprised at one point in my youth – when I heard Sayle performing voice-overs for advertisements on ITV (the UK only had three TV channels at the time – two of which were run by the BBC). My parents gave me the ability to “think freely” and so I was left to think my way out of the conundrum. I began to learn about how real life in a bourgeois society actually is – and that compromises sometimes need to be made. It was with a great disappointment when I read Alexi Sayle’s biography – within which he stated he was NOT a Marxist! I was saddened as he was a major stepping stone in my impoverished youth. His comedy gave me strength! And for that – I cannot help but love the man!
Before Covid-19, Gee, Mei-An and Kai-Lin took part an anti-fascist march in London. As usual, we were the only Communists proudly carrying the Red Flag – but my family was racially attacked by a group of Socialist Workers’ Party, a Polish migrant who stated he was proud his grandfather had fought for Hitler – and a number “White” Labour Party members. They told Gee to go back to China and for my children to be deported. Gee was born in the UK and is British – whilst all my children were born in Britain! I reported this to the Communist Party of Britain (we are no longer members due to the CPB NOT supporting Russia in its war against Neo-Nazi Ukraine) – but as usual nothing was done. Having listened to what Kier Starmer was doing during Jeremy Corbyn’s tenure as Leader – I now believe we suffered at the hands of the deliberate right-wing insurgency which Kier Starmer led! I think we were the victims of Labour Party sabotage aimed specifically at the far-left – and to undermine Corbyn’s Leadership.
On the day, only one Jewish man came and stood next to us – telling the aggressive crowd now surrounding us that this was an anti-fascist march and that the Soviet Red Army had saved his family when it liberated the Concentration Camps! I was so on edge that when he walked over – I was not sure if he was going to physically attack me when held-out his hand to shake mine. In front of this baying crowd – Gee told our children to get ready to fight – and the Hakka and Celt in them came to the surface despite their young age! We were ready to light up the sky! Millions upon millions have died and been wounded fighting for the Red Flag – why should we be any different! Afterwards, in the cold light of day, we decided not to go on any further marches due to the danger of fascism in the UK – a danger that is increasing day-by-day! We have marched hundreds of miles but our children need to grow, educate and enjoy their childhood.
