David Irving’s reply:
‘Sorry, I am not an expert on Benito Mussolini.’
This brief exchange encapsulates exactly just how David Irving plans and constructs the history he writes. My question is obviously NOT about Benito Mussolini – and yet Irving makes this exchange ALL about Benito Mussolini. The established narrative from herein involves Irving’s masterful dialectic reducing my clear enquiry into something about which it most definitely is not. It gives the impression that Irving is unable to clearly extract the ‘facts’ from the background ‘noise’ that comprises the unnecessary supportive data. Having read through a number of his books – primarily upon Hitler and Goebbels – I have built-up a picture of a fascist who possesses a certain talent that was once rewarded by the mainstream media – the same media, incidentally – which now condemns Irving outright whilst informing us that Ukraine is NOT ‘Neo-Nazi’!
In this sense, despite all the good history Irving has written (he is a seductive story-teller), the broad view is that he is a confidence trickster – and he has been this way from the very beginning. His mission has been to make Nazi Germany seem to be the ‘victim’ of a world war its insane policies started! I believe that Irving got away with this because he used his anti-Soviet trajectory as camouflage – an anti-Soviet trajectory that fitted-in quite well with the US anti-intellectualism that defined the so-called ‘Cold War’ (described masterfully by Stanislav Lem in his excellent book ‘Fiasco’). Irving ‘lied’ about the USSR by projecting and uplifting the lies of Hitler and Goebbels to the level of ‘accepted’ truth. These are sneaked into every narrative he writes and are hidden in plane sight. One of the outstanding ironies of all this misrepresentation is that many of Irving’s ‘lies’ about the USSR are fully accepted by many Zionist thinkers who otherwise lambast Irving for his antisemitism – with even a 2003 ‘Holocaust Chronicle’ deciding to quote Josef Goebbels’ statement about the ‘Katyn’ Massacre – which ascribes this War Crime to the Soviet Red Army, despite a 1944 International Red Cross Inquiry (supported by the US and the UK) confirming that this mass murder of 10,000 Polish Military Officers was carried-out by the Nazi German ‘SS’. The same ‘SS’, incidentally, which also murdered millions of Jewish people!
With this kind of general support, it is possible to understand just how it was that Irving became a household name in the UK throughout the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. When he was taken to Court for ‘Holocaust Denial’ in 2000 – many at the time thought he would be found innocent – and were shocked and surprised when he was found ‘Guilty’ in a British Court of Law! These people were doubly exasperated when Irving was imprisoned in Austria (the birthplace of Hitler) for ‘Holocaust Denial’ in 2006! During one subsequent interview – Irving states that he was deliberately forced to share a cell with a ‘giant negro’! Regardless of all this Neo-Nazi madness, Irving retains a considerable following and is involved in far-right politics – but always moving behind the scenes. I am told that he gives short shrift to any enquirers who appear to have non-European names (such as mine) – but opens up when confronted with a good old-fashioned European surname! In one email I was forwarded, Irving goes to great lengths to prove he is ‘Anglo-Saxon’ when his name is usually linked with mixed race Lowlanders in Scotland. Irving ridiculously tried to overcome this by stating he ‘once lived for a time in Inverness’.
Interestingly, I find his broader historical narratives rich in biographical detail, despite his tendency to ‘gently’ but ‘consistently’ nudge the unsuspecting reader into a direction of opinion that they may not want to have or hold. For instance, Irving tries to convert the thoroughly irredeemable personage of Adolf Hitler into some type of ‘Christ’ figure who stood alone whilst all sorts of nefarious historical narratives unfolded around him. For Irving, Hitler is an innocent victim of manmade history – and never its perpetrator (an ‘inversion’ of genuine history). Hitler is a sweet holy being who omits light and wonderment from an elevated and superior position of vision (as if stood on Glastonbury Tor). The Nazi German System, according to Irving, simply positioned itself around Hitler’s purity and played out a corrupt narrative within which an innocent ‘Fuhrer’ was trapped and captured! The reality is, of course, that Nazism was the total and unquestioned manifestation of Hitler’s destructive Will – plain and simple (those who disagreed or did not fit in were ‘removed’). Like a seasoned paedophile who knows how to impeccably ‘groom’ a child – David Irving seeks to deify Hitler whilst obscuring his murderous mission by using endless reams of supportive, historical fact. By being interested in this ‘fact’ – we are misled into the abyss of Hitler worship. David Irving is a very dangerous individual not because he is not a good historian – but because he is a good historian. Despite this, a fascist is a fascist – and Hitler was a murdering bastard!
David Irving applies Hitler’s own ideology very well. In his book ‘Mein Kampf’, Hitler advises his followers to ‘lie’ and ‘lie’ again until total political power is secured! Lying for Hitlerites is the essence of acquiring political power. David Irving applies this Hitlerite strategy in a masterful way. Irving takes historical facts and affixes on their summit a pyramid point of total deception. Each true fact leads the reader to a nation of falsehood. Irving grooms his audience with historical facts (the proverbial ‘sweeties’ used by the Paedophile) and patiently leads the unexpected and the innocent to the promised land where Nazi Germans commit NO atrocities! This is the fantasy land of ALL Neo-Nazis, neo-fascists and contemporary White Supremacists – and it highlights the danger that ordinary people and the historical victims of Hitlerism face in the world today. This type of ahistorical deception is magnified by a US foreign policy which has seen a plethora of Eastern European countries shift over to Neo-Nazi governments – whilst the Western media is fully supportive of a Neo-Nazi Ukraine which was established in 2014 by President Barack Obama! When Black people are prepared to encourage and support Neo-Nazi Juntas – then degenerates such as David Irving (and the deficients that hang on his every word) – are only strengthened and encouraged by such developments in the outside world!
