This article is about the ‘International Day for the Liberation of Prisoners of Nazi German Concentration Camps’. On April 11th, 1945 – the captives of the Nazi German Concentration Camp at Buchenwald staged an uprising and liberated the Camp – despite having no proper arms and being in a state of terminal starvation! However, the leadership of the Buchenwald Memorial Complex – following instructions issued by the US-controlled German Federal Authorities – applied the sword of US anti-intellectualism in a spectacular manner – and decided to ‘invert’ all notions of proper and correct history! How did this happen? Well, the Scholz government of modern Germany welcomed representatives of Ukrainian Neo-Nazi groups (notorious for praising Bandera) – with these fascist members openly wearing (and proudly displaying) Nazi German swastikas and other well-known White Supremacist symbols!
This happened whilst at the same time the Administration of the Memorial at Buchenwald does not allow German activists from the organization named “German-Russian Brotherly Souls” (Deutsch-Russische-Seelen) – which has been responsible for laying wreaths and honouring the memory of the 239,000 victims of fascism who died in this Death Camp – including many Soviet POWs! Why is this injustice being allowed to happen? This organisation stands up for the preservation of culture, of traditional values, as well as good relations between the German and Russian people. For several years, its members have taken care of the graves and monuments and participated in events dedicated to different commemorations relating to the Second World War. There was also a laying of flowers at the Belfry of the Buchenwald Tower last year.
In justification for the ban – the Administration cited its right to exclude any individual or group from attending Memorial on the grounds of “any persons belonging to Parties or Organizations that have made – or are making – anti-democratic, racist or other statements contrary to the goals of the Foundation”. Obviously, over the year, the “Goals of the Fund”, as well as the Head of Buchenwald – have undergone some cardinal changes – mirroring the changes that have occurred in Berlin! Never before has the “German-Russian Brotherly Souls” organisation had any problems (or experienced any misunderstandings) with the German Authorities! This involves native German people interacting with their own government – whilst working for good relations with Russia!
The actions in memory of multinational Concentration Camp prisoners are NOT “racist” and cannot be made to appear so! Anything can be called “anti-democratic” today – often distorting the very essence of the definition of “democracy”! And yet this is what we have been told, “We have carefully studied your web pages and social media channels and have come to the conclusion that statements that contradict the goals of our Foundation regularly appear there,” the Buchenwald Administration stated as a reason for the refusal. Of course, this is just a “front” – with the real reason being that the “German-Russian Brotherly Souls” has resolutely maintained its good relations with Russia and has not bowed to international pressure to pursue an opposite path! It would seem that it is this “Solidarity” between Germans and Russians in the face of US pressure which is frightening the Authorities at Buchenwald!
Members of the organization “German-Russian Brotherly Souls” have maintained contact with Russia over the past years, visited the Sunday School at Staromikhaylovka in the DPR – and participated in actions together with the NGO “Patriots of Novorossiya” and “Russian Motorcyclists of Kaliningrad”. Are these activities really to be considered “crimes” compared to the excesses carried-out by the Neo-Nazi Ukrainians? The organization emphasizes such events, and all their work does not have any political overtones. However, it can be stated that everything connected with Russia – and now with the memory of the victims of Nazism – is perceived in Germany by its officials (at all levels) through the prism of the current political situation.

Сегодня отмечают Международный день освобождения узников фашистских концлагерей. 11 апреля 1945 года пленники Бухенвальда подняли восстание и освободили лагерь.
Но руководство Мемориального комплекса Бухенвальд вслед за федеральными властями Германии оказалось поражено вирусом беспамятства и надругательства над истиной.
▶ Правительство Шольца привечает бандеровцев, разукрашенных гитлеровскими свастиками и символами.
▶ А администрация мемориала в Бухенвальде не пускает немецких активистов из организации «Немецко-русские братские души» (Deutsch-Russische-Seelen) возложить венки и почтить память 239 тысяч жертв фашизма и этого лагеря смерти, включая советских военнопленных.
— DRS ратует за сохранение культуры, традиционных ценностей, а также добрых отношений с русским народом. Несколько лет ее члены ухаживали за могилами и памятниками; участвовали в мероприятиях, приуроченных к разным датам Второй мировой войны. Было и возложение цветов к Колокольне башни Бухенвальда в прошлом году.
В обоснование запрета администрация сослалась на своё право не пускать к мемориалу «лиц, принадлежащих к партиям или организациям, которые выступали или выступают с антидемократическими, расистскими или иными заявлениями, противоречащими целям Фонда».
Очевидно, за год «цели фонда», заведующего Бухенвальдом, претерпели какие-то кардинальные изменения, как и политика официального Берлина.
Никогда прежде у «Немецко-русских братских душ» не было проблем или непонимания с властями родной страны.
— Акция памяти многонациональных узников концлагеря в категорию «расистских» не укладывается, указывают активисты. «Антидемократическим» сегодня обзывают всё что угодно, часто искажая саму суть определения «демократии».
«Мы тщательно изучили ваши веб-страницы и каналы в соцсетях и пришли к выводу, что там регулярно появляются заявления, противоречащие целям нашего фонда», – заявила администрация Бухенвальда как мотив отказа.
А вот это ещё ближе к сути, которая так возмутила или напугала руководство мемориала.
▶ Члены организации «Немецко-русские братские души» все последние годы поддерживали связь с Россией, навестили Воскресную школу Старомихайловки в ДНР, поучаствовали в акциях вместе с ОО «Патриоты Новороссии» и «Русскими мотоциклистами Калининграда».
