Blogger’s Note: We certainly live in interesting times. An openly gay (White) woman – who “married” her (non-White) Sri Lankan partner (Sarah Bossad) and adopted two-girls (whilst living in Switzerland) – is the co-leader of the German far-right “Alternative for German Party – which is essentially “Islamophobia”. It is probably the equivalent of the (Israel-supported) Tommy Robinson (racist) movement in the UK. Of cause, the reactionary and Ukraine Neo-Nazi-supporting “Pinknews” (no stranger to accusations of “Sexual Deviancy“) has published remarkably non-critical articles fawning over Weidal. It has been commented elsewhere that “White racists are White racists – regardless of sexual orientation”. What is interesting is that homophobic attitudes exist throughout every area of society and can be found within all religions and philosophies. Islamophobes deliberately focus upon homophobia within Islam, but ignores similar manifestations within Hinduism, Judaism, and Christianity, etc. The genuine far-right, of course, is extremely homophobic (just as it is against Jewish people) and it is counter-intuitive that a “lesbian” woman could be considered a “poster-girl” for neo-fascism or Neo-Nazism movement. Within the German-language Press a number of observations are poignant. Firstly, Weidal is referred to as a “fig-leaf” – a person with an unconventional lifestyle which is used to hide the true nature (and horror) of the far-right – and facilitate its infiltration into mainstream society. The other point is that the area the AfD won a local election in – resides in the former “German Democratic Republic” (GDR) of East Germany (following the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the USSR – the West unleashed a sustained wave of anti-Socialist propaganda throughout East Germany) – and it may be this left-wing influence that motivated the local population into mistakenly believing that the far-right is “acceptable” this time around due to the sexual orientation of the racist candidate. This is all about the far right laughingly perpetuating the false idea that some sorts of racism are acceptable – whilst others are not. This is a transitional step on the path toward making “ALL” types of racism acceptable – and we will be back to 1933. ACW (7.9.2026)

Far-right AfD scores record win in German state election
MAGDEBURG, Germany, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) — The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) has won Sunday’s state election in Saxony-Anhalt with a record 44.4 percent of the vote, according to an exit poll released by public broadcaster ARD.
The Christian Democratic Union (CDU), led by incumbent state leader Sven Schulze, suffered a heavy blow, plunging to 18.4 percent, down from 37.1 percent in 2021, the poll showed.
The Left party came in third with 9.3 percent, followed by the Greens with 8.7 percent and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) with 8.4 percent.
The newly formed Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) hovered right on the 5-percent threshold to enter the state parliament, while the business-friendly Free Democratic Party (FDP) crashed out with just 2.2 percent.
Conceding defeat, Schulze acknowledged the AfD’s clear victory, while urging political leaders across Germany to heed the message sent by voters.
In Berlin, head of the Chancellery Nina Warken called the election outcome a “watershed moment” for the CDU, describing it on broadcaster ZDF as a “very, very difficult result.” Warken also insisted that the federal government would resolutely press ahead with its planned reform agenda.
In the 83-seat state parliament, the AfD is projected to secure 39 seats, three seats shy of an absolute majority needed to govern alone.
The AfD’s 35-year-old state lead candidate Ulrich Siegmund hailed the result, declaring that “the people have sent a clear signal.”
Speaking to ARD, Siegmund also signaled a shift from his pre-election stance of only seeking office through an absolute majority, noting that his party is now open to a coalition.
However, all other mainstream parties have repeatedly ruled out entering a coalition with the AfD. It remains unclear how a viable state government will be formed.
