Blogger’s Note: In about 50-years or so, when younger people look back at these articles – they will not believe that the UK once possessed a healthcare system (paid for through collective taxation and delivered free at the point of us) invented by VU Lenin in the USSR to relieve the grinding poverty of Czarist Russia! Everyone financially contributes when they can – and everyone receives free treatment when they need it – thus eradicating healthcare poverty. Since the early 1980s, the NHS has been under tremendous pressure to privatise and sell-off all its departments to US companies that exist only to asset-strip and make profit whilst poorer people are left to suffer. Sometimes, even moderately well-off individuals cannot afford to pay debilitating health bills as the health companies charge extortionate prices. Meanwhile, staff wages drop and those with proper medical qualifications are forced-out (this is termed “de-skilling”) whilst cheap (and unqualified) migrant labour is manoeuvred into position to take its place. The shutting-down of a “free at use” NHS requires the New Labour government to keep encouraging the importation of migrant labour – whilst simultaneously bleating-on in Parliament that it is trying to “do something about it”. Do you know, I was part of the 2016 “LEXIT” (hard-left) “left Out of the EU” campaign for precisely this reason. Many unions backed LEXIT as did many non-White British workers – as this is NOT about race – but ALL workers’ rights! In many meetings I saw, non-White (British) workers gave speeches about how unfamiliar foreign communities had sprung-up, took-over areas, and aggressively competed for housing and work. Why? Just so our Socialist system can be dismantled and sold to the US? I met some of these new arrivals and by and large they were good people – the victims of post-1991 (Soviet-collapse) capitalism (the US again). Most told me that life was good under the Soviet system – but now it was terrible under capitalism. The US has injected far-right ideology into Eastern Europe to prevent what it fears will be a resurgence of Soviet Socialism. We should be “comrades” and not “competitors”! Without properly funded and empowered unions all over Europe (the EU must go) – the workers are reduced to scrambling individuals fighting desperately for scraps from the master’s table. Guidance from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) grants GPs the power to decide who gets a blood test for the killer disease, according to a letter leaked to newspapers.
Under current guidelines, any man over the age of 50 could receive a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test via their GP.
Prostate Cancer Research said the change is a “shocking betrayal and backward step that will condemn thousands more men each year to a late and incurable diagnosis”.
Former Prime Minister Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton, who was treated for prostate cancer after taking a PSA test, said it was a “backwards step”.
He told The Telegraph: “Screening is essential to catch cancers early when they can be more effectively and successfully treated. Only due to testing, my cancer was caught and treated in time.
“I urge the new prime minister and health secretary to be brave and bold — stop the complexity and confusion and introduce a more progressive and life-saving policy: a proper, targeted screening programme that involves all those at higher risk. Without it, more men will die and more families will lose a loved one. Heed the warnings — this is avoidable and can be done.”
A DHSC spokesperson insisted the policy has not been changed.
It said that the final decision was always intended to be made by a GP.
The statement said that previous guidance had to be “retired” because it was ambiguous, adding: “Every man still has the right to ask their GP for a PSA test and it remains the case that the final decision rests with GPs.”
