Blogger’s Note: It is interesting to note that despite claiming to be representing the oppressed peoples of the world (during the height of intensity from US-Israeli attacks) – including Cuba – Iran has completely omitted any mention of the well-being of Cuba, its regime, or its people (currently suffering from the ongoing embargo enforced by the US and its allies) in its two-week cease-fire agreement with the US-Israel entity. I think this is typical of the hypocritical attitude of theistic religion, which is entirely selfish and self-serving. Bear in mind that Iraq was a secular Socialist State when it fought an 8-year war with Islamicist Iran (1980-1988). Politicised religion always acts this way. Whilst Neo-Nazi Ukraine is supported by the Catholic Church – Russia’s effort is backed by the Orthodox Church (I once encountered an Orthodox Priest at the Soviet War Memorial in London a few years ago – and had the feeling that I had experienced “pure evil”). This induced derision is exactly what politicised religion specialises in manufacturing. Trump is killing Cuba and Iran has been quite happy to falsely associate its Islamacist militancy with Cuba’s struggle when under attack by the West – but when Iran achieves the political upper-hand – Cuba’s (secukar Socialist) struggle is thrown in the bin. This is because theistic belief systems view secular Socialism as an attack on the literal accepting of religious teachings. Mark my words and learn from this. Israeli violence is entirely derived from its politicised religious beliefs – as the Israeli State also detests secular Socialism and acively works against it. Indeed, this would be an area of agreement between Iram, the US, and Israel. In another incarnation, Iran could be yet another Saudi Arabia! ACW (8.4.2026)

Camagüey, Apr 6.- For 17 months, Jorge Hernandez Madruga was, along with several collaborators, the face of hope for millions of people in Jamaica, a people who have ties of friendship and who since March 5 have seen their dreams forgotten after the government of the Caribbean nation decided to terminate the bilateral health cooperation agreement.

This responds to an action resulting from pressure from the United States that breaks the ties of five decades of assistance and affects the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Caribbean nation.

Jorgito, in diminutive, for the affection he professes and the love for a profession that has kept him awake for 43 years, speaks from the pain of a people who saw the kindness of Cubans rise up and embrace with simplicity and gratitude.

Perhaps that is why his words are strong and energetic in the face of a genocidal policy that could not stop the “thank you Cuba, thank you doctor, thank you nurse”, which he found in his wake at the news.

He highlights the magnitude of the work they built, a work that transcended the professional level to become a monument to fraternity, and while answering each question he weaves together the memories of his first stay in Jamaica as a member of the Cuban Medical Brigade.

Twenty years later he returned, this time to a rural area in the east of the island, where he worked in a polyclinic with the same affection, discipline and dedication as always; qualities that speak of a man who loves his family, devoted to duty and responsible in every task.

As I listen to him, I imagine the only Cuban nurse who remained permanently in that place, 25 km from where he lived, and far from speaking of individual merit, he emphasizes the presence of the brigade in the parish of Saint Thomas, made up of nine doctors and five nurses.

The also Master in Nursing and Assistant Professor, recognized for his contributions in the General Directorate of Public Health of Camagüey, breathes pride for his homeland and the satisfaction of belonging to that army of white coats that recalls the precepts of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.

He fondly remembers one of the key positions that guaranteed care for 70 and 90 patients in two weekly consultation frequencies, many of them with diabetic foot ulcers that asked for the hands of “nurse Hernández” to heal.

That’s as far as the health fairs with active investigations of hidden morbidity of hypertension and diabetes went, where health services were taken to intricate areas, or health education to the population every day before starting the consultation. That is why she cannot help but get excited, she knows that today they will not be able to accede to that request that resonates in her memory.

In addition to Jamaica, he fulfilled a mission in Dominica and from all of them he has life lessons, both personal and professional, which ratify his commitment to bring health to brother peoples and return with the duty fulfilled as he expressed upon his arrival in the country and being received by the Minister of Public Health, Dr. José Angel Portal Miranda and other authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government. (Text: Gladys Dailyn Morera Cordero/Radio Cadena Agramonte)

(Texto: Gladys Dailyn Morera Cordero/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
