My father used to run the Claimants’ Union – a free legal advice resource. He knew a left-wing Law Professor working in Exeter. This Professor instructed his law students to gain experience by representing Benefit recipients “free of charge” – to gain real world experience of how the DHSS (Department of Health and Social Security) operated – and how poor people forced to exist on the British Welfare State were routinely treated “illegally” by the Authorities. The British Authorities assumed that an individual living on the dole had no financial ability to hire a lawyer and fight the injustice being committed against them.
Yes – the most vulnerable people within UK society were treated with the greatest extent of State oppression – as if poverty is crime. Of course, the capitalist system is unfair and responsible for ALL poverty – not the individuals subjected to it. Well, the DHSS Officers were astonished when a law student entered the room, exposed their malpractice, proved their legal point, and left with their empowered client. One old man had requested a small grant for new underpants – which had been rejected on the grounds that he was “too old”. Empowered with a legal representative – this old man (who had fought in WWII) was able to gain a small token of help from the British State he had helped defend in his youth.
His legal adviser destroyed this falsehood in around 30 seconds. Anyway, this Professor gifted my father a number of very good British produced books that contained the fully translated Soviet Legal Code. My father passed these books onto me about ten-years ago, It is an important blue-print around which human society was going to be changed for the better. The inequality and injustices of predatory capitalism were replaced in the USSR by a progressive Socialism which generated a level-playing field through which anyone could enter and benefit. All legal rights were completely free and granted to each Soviet citizen as he or she encountered the Police and/or entered a Soviet (People’s) Court Room. There was no such thing as having to “pay” for legal representation. In return, a newcomer to the USSR had the duty to learn about Soviet culture and actively support its functionality. This was the least a migrant was expected to do in appreciation for the free housing, education, schooling, and employment they were granted – the same rights all Soviet citizens possessed. There was to be NO ethnic enclaves that developed hostile or antagonistic sub-cultures – which treated the land they occupied as “colonies” existing “outside” the influence of the USSR.
This is the dissolving of the inverted mind-set of the bourgeoisie and replacing it with a proletariat mind-set operating the right way around. This is how inequality (inversion) is replaced with equality (non-inversion). This is not the false bourgeois equality that is used to hide the vast sea of disturbances and injustices which underlay all capitalist activities. No – the Socialist world is diverse and vibrant in its manifestation. The point is that a Socialist society actively lifts-up and empowers all beings – so that they are free to develop in any and all directions of creativity. Bearing this in-mind – the above explains how “foreigners” were treated throughout the USSR – as thiis should serve as a model for us all.
The Soviet laws above explain how a Socialist State behaves toward those unknown or unfamiliar individuals who enter into its socio-economic (geographical) space. Soviet law (founded by Lenin and Stalin) should be studied and put into practice wherever we live as individuals – regardless of what economic system we are living within. This is the power of self-determination we all possess. The capitalist system can do whatever it wants in the outside world (until we over-throw it) – but it cannot alter the inner terrain of our minds – if we choose to arrange it in a certain orientation. We do not have to hate if we choose not to. We can all be Socialist and Communist “here and now” – and do not have to rely on any external entity to grant use permission.
