Q: Can you explain why it is that many consider George Galloway to be a betrayer of the left?
A: For sake of brevity – I will give four broad examples below – drawn from data already in the public doman. Galloway was either a) once a Marxist-Leninist, but b) is nolonger a Marxist-Leninist, or c) he was NEVER a Marxist-Leninist – and his past association with the left is nothing but a sham. If “c” is correct, then ironically this would imply that Galloway’s current incarnation is indeed his “true” self – with his past being a fabrication in the sense that he never agreed with the Marxist-Leninism he appeared to be upholding (the experiences were real – but not the apparent motivation behind them). We are still waiting for him to return the Stone Wall Award! Another thing he and is partner could lose, according to social media reports, is the sickening sense of entitlement they both express. Neither one of them is special – and neither is entitled to any special treatment or consideration. Galloway cannot claim to represent the working class – and then act like a slighted feudal overlord! Anyway, to business:
1) Galloway – prior to being elected as an MP into the Labour Party in 1987 – was involved in all kinds of far-left activity normally indicative of being a member of the Communist Party. He plays this down today – and gets away with it – because many do understand the history of the British left. For instance, the “London Volunteers” in the 1970s and 1980s were a Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB) affair, one of the few operations it was officially involved in post-WWII. Volunteers, usually members of the CPGB, traversed through London in preparation for their infiltration into South Africa’s Apartheid system. I do not know of anyone who was not a Communist who took part in it. The idea was to confront the Authorities and cause agitation, etc, usually led by Jewish “Commanders”. Despite this, Galloway has said many times he is not a Marxist – and has never been a Marxist – when 25-years ago he appeared to espouse far-left ideology with every ounce of his being.
2) Where once he would have lambasted the Catholic Church for its routine paedophilia and association with fascism – today he is proud to claim he is a member (despite an allegation that he has reverted to Islam). There is a debate as to which religion – Islam or Catholicism – is influencing his socially conservative viewpoints. During his podcasts, he will often express Islamic phrases in a fluent Arabic with Muslim callers – and on it goes. Religion is NOT the answer to all the wars the religions are causing. If Galloway know believes theistic religion to be correct (what Marx defined as the exercising of an “inverted” mind-set) – then he should admit that this transformation has taken place, and be honest about his true motivations, instead of allowing impressionable young leftists to be drawn to his influence today, due to a video they may have seen which is over 20-years old.
3) George Galloway is now a reactionary who advocates right-wing and far-right hate ideology – which includes racism, homophobia and trans-phobia. Although he has deleted an entire raft of his earlier videos extolling Che Guevara, Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, etc, as if to hide what he once believed, his contemporary videos that express hatred and racism are legion in number and easy to locate. What many find despicable is how Galloway (and his partner) are seeking to infiltrate the left with a normalised far-right narrative. This is considered to be a manifestation of “entryism” as found within the modern Trotskyite movement. Trotsky always attempted to use a faux leftism to deceive the workers and move them back toward the bourgeois centre – through the normalisation of capitalism – kept in-place by the childish rhetoric of far-right popularism. Trotsky sought to disempower the workers and turn Revolutionary Russia into a typical Western European (bourgeois) country – convincing the workers that race-hate can replace legitimate rights, and so on. Galloway’s behaviour reflects this model perfectly.
4) Perhaps the most disturbing element of Galloway’s deception lies with the way he is destroying the anti-Zionist movement. Anti-Zionism is a staunch anti-fascist movement which sees the international workers align with Jewish workers in an attempt to free their communities from the taint of Zionist “White Supremacy”. Indeed, it has been Jewish workers who have often led this movement. It is not a movement imposed upon Judaism by outsiders – but a Jewish movement that has requested international assistance from the outside. Not all Zionists are Jews – and the Zionist Authorities often brutalise Jews who disagree with the oppression of the Palestinians. Galloway has done a great dis-service to this movement by bringing it into disrepute. Anti-Semitism (which has no place in assisting the Jews) has seeped in due to his rhetoric and tactics. More than this, perhaps the greatest distortion is how Galloway links the fighting of Zionism with the supporting of Islam. As the far-left defines ALL theistic religion as contributing toward the problem (including Catholicism by the way) – siding with one religion other another has NOTHING to do with a genuine far-left resistance to Zionism.
