Furthermore, an interviewed Chinese female friend of the deceased seems to imply that the behaviour of Zhuang Menghan [庄梦涵] changed considerably (for the worst) because she dated an older, “White” man. (ECNS) — A 23-year-old Chinese student who was found dead at her off-campus residence on Feb. 4 had accused her boyfriend of abuse in a social media post, but the post was later deleted.
In the post, the victim said, “This guy abused me… He always acts like he’s innocent. He’s trying to send me to jail and everything he says is 99 percent lies. I thought it was true love, but I was blind.”
The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles confirmed her death on Wednesday.
Zhuang Menghan, also known as Emily King, was a fourth-year undergraduate student at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). A report from the local coroner revealed that she died from multiple injuries.
Zhuang had previously accused her boyfriend of abuse in a social media post that was later deleted. In the post, she said, “This guy abused me… He always acts like he’s innocent. He’s trying to send me to jail and everything he says is 99 percent lies. I thought it was true love, but I was blind.”
Her white boyfriend, reportedly much older than her, was said to be the CEO of an art company. According to Hongxing News, a high school friend noted that Zhuang had been posting unusual content on social media since she began dating her boyfriend and avoided discussing him when asked.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Zhuang was likely killed by a male suspect who arrived at her residence the night before. The suspect reportedly exited through her second-story bedroom window the afternoon of the day she was discovered dead.
However, it’s still unclear what the suspect’s relationship was with the victim. Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest in her murder.
Before her death was confirmed, Zhuang had been absent from classes for a week, according to a notice from CalArts to the student community.
Her family arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The school and the Chinese consulate are assisting with related matters.

红星新闻记者看到，洛杉矶相关部门出具的公开尸检报告没有明确指出她具体受伤的部位等细节信息，也没有更多其他死因。报告显示，庄孟寒的死因被列为“多处损伤”，死亡方式被列为“谋杀”，死亡地点是“家中”，其身份一栏注明的是“亚洲”。
高中同学：
她与年长白人男友交往后举止变得怪异
庄孟寒的高中同学小萍告诉红星新闻记者，她认为庄孟寒在交往了一名年长她较多的白人男友后，其精神和生活状态开始变得“怪异”。据小萍了解，与庄孟寒同住的男性室友，并非这名交往的白人男友。
小萍回忆，她从高中起就认识了大自己两岁的庄孟寒，两人关系要好，小萍后来到美国读书后，她们还曾相约一起出来吃饭聚会，虽然不在同一所大学念书，但是两人平时也经常私下联络。
一切从庄孟寒与一名白人男友开始交往之后就变了。
小萍告诉红星新闻记者，她是从庄孟寒的社交平台上晒出的照片，才得知庄孟寒与一位年长较多的白人男性正在恋爱，对方是一家艺术公司的CEO，“我只知道她男朋友是做艺术行业的，她也晒过合照，他们交往的时间不超过一年，但是我问及她和男朋友的事情时，能感觉到她在回避。”小萍说，曾经她与庄孟寒联系密切，但从去年12月开始，俩人之间的联系就变少了，“差不多就是半年到一年的时间里，这个男友对她的控制加强了。”小萍回忆，庄孟寒自从与这个男友在一起后，社交平台上发布的内容，就开始变得“奇怪”。
根据小萍发给红星新闻记者的截图可以看到，庄孟寒在自己的社交平台上除了会发布与男友的照片之外，还会发布一些举止诡异或者衣着较为暴露的照片，“我认识庄孟寒多年了，我了解她的为人和个性，她以前不会这样的，而且她是学艺术的，我从她的作品里面能够感觉到她的变化，作品就是她表达的情感，自从她与这个男友恋爱以来，她的社交账号上发布的东西不再阳光，反而是一些阴暗扭曲的情感。”
