DPRK - EU Racism!

DPRK: EU Anti-North Korean Racism Exposed – Press Statement by Section Chief of Korea-Europe Association! (9.2.2025)

Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) — The section chief of the Korea-Europe Association issued the following press statement on Feb. 6:

The International Crisis Group, headquartered in Brussels, reportedly announced a report on the 10 conflicts to watch in 2025 by the European Union, some days ago.

Out of its mission alleged to shape policies that will prevent a war and build a more peaceful world, the group took issue with the exercise of the DPRK’s sovereign rights and made an unreasonable “policy recommendation” to the EU, arguing that it should put “targeted pressure” on the DPRK and redouble its efforts to prevent the latter from “evading sanctions”.

Such wrong behaviour of the group inciting confrontation rather than the settlement of dispute while totally distorting the essence and root cause of the aggravated situation on the Korean peninsula makes one more sceptical about the legality of this body and about the necessity of its existence.

It has been recognized by everyone that the root cause of the constant instability in the Korean peninsula and its vicinity lies in the reckless military confrontation manoeuvres including the nuclear threat by the U.S. and its allies hostile to the DPRK.

The ICG, which is said to expert on the global disputes and conflict crises, turned away its face from large-scale war drills staged by the U.S. and its vassal forces in the Korean peninsula every day and their moves for expanding the alliance for aggression, but parroted such confrontation notions as “targeted pressure” and “escalated sanctions” made by those hostile forces. This goes to prove that the group is no more than a mouthpiece dancing to the tune of the U.S. and the West.

I take this opportunity to advise the EU. If the EU wants to display its “strategic autonomy” in the international arena, it should not blindly take advantage of the U.S. in international issues, including the Korean peninsula issue, but maintain impartiality and objectivity.

In the present era characterized by uncertainty and unpredictability, what is needed by the EU is to recognize the changed reality after waking from old-fashioned thinking and obsession. (End)

Top DPRK leader vows to enhance war response posture

Source: Xinhua Editor: huaxia 2025-02-09

SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) — The top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) vowed on Saturday to bolster war response posture to cope with any security situation during his visit to the Ministry of National Defence marking Day of Army Founding, state media said on Sunday.

In his speech commemorating the 77th founding anniversary of the Korean People’s Army, Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, noted the need to improve the war response posture of the country’s armed forces to confront security challenges, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

Kim pointed out that the U.S. constant deployment of nuclear strategic means on the Korean peninsula, the U.S.-led bilateral and multiple nuclear war simulation exercises, its trilateral military alliance with South Korea and Japan, and the formation of the Asian version of NATO are inviting military imbalance on the peninsula and in Northeast Asia, and posing a grave challenge to his country’s security, the KCNA report said.

The DPRK does not want unnecessary escalation of the regional situation “but will take sustained countermeasures to ensure the regional military balance out of the aspiration for preventing the outbreak of a new war and ensuring peace and security on the Korean Peninsula,” he was quoted as saying by the KCNA.

Referring to a series of new plans for rapidly bolstering all deterrences including nuclear forces, Kim clarified once again the unshakable policy of more highly developing the nuclear forces, the KCNA report said.

He expressed serious concern over the “reckless behaviors of the U.S. and Western group intentionally fostering the prolonged war from the unrealizable dream to deal strategic setbacks to Russia,” adding the army and people of the DPRK will “invariably support and encourage the just cause of the Russian army and people to defend their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity in keeping with the spirit of the treaty on the comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia,” said the report.
