Cuba: An International School for Health & Hope! (3.9.2026)

At the end of this academic year, Cuban universities delivered 30,185 new professionals to the country and the world. Engineers, architects, pedagogues, scientists, nurses, technologists… Young people who have sweated in the classrooms, who have studied with just the right resources, who have overcome fatigue and adversity to become what this country needs to move forward.

Among those 30,185 there are 735 young people from 62 countries. Students who came from all continents – Africa, Latin America, Asia, Europe – who shared desks with Cubans, who learned our language, our medicine, our solidarity, our way of understanding life as service. Who return to their lands with a degree and, also, with a way of seeing the world that is not taught in any manual.

And among them, two figures should make the blindest pause: 23 new Palestinian doctors.

Young people who will return to their land – a land that burns under bombs and rubble – not with weapons in their hands, but with stethoscopes around their necks. With the knowledge to save lives in the place in the world where it is most needed. With the ethics that Cuban medicine instills: first the human being, then everything else.

And if you watched Netanyahu speaking about changing the face of the Middle East, you would have noticed how the “leaders of the world” were scratching their heads.

But Iran’s steadfastness and unity, and the losses suffered by its enemies, forced them to retreat and try to regroup before a defeat even more severe than the monthly defeat in Vietnam. Trump and Netanyahu decided to withdraw from this war under the pressure of Iranian missiles and rising oil prices, which led to the Republican Party’s decline to its lowest popularity in opinion polls, especially since anti-war voices began to rise from the leaders of this party, not to mention the opposition of the Democratic Party.

There is a US-financed (it is all about money – and has always been about money for the Yankee Imperialists) Fifth Column operating within the Cuban Mainland. These individual men and women have secret ties to the US government which rewards their families living in the US and guarantees an affluent retirement when their destructive work is over. The propaganda against Socialist Cuba is seen everywhere in the West – even fictitious crime-dramas like “Dexter” – which whilst conveying the psychopathic tendencies of a forensic expert working for the police, still manages to present “Cuba” (and “Cubans”) as being hopelessly impoverished and just waiting for an opportunity of literally “throwing” their immaciated bodies into the sea and somehow “floating” to US shores (where Dexter is waiting to kill the survivors and stockpile their remains in a convenient warehouse). This is not an exaggerated racist trope – and we had to stop watching (consuming) this show as a protest. Cuban sportspeople – often dominant Boxers – are portrayed as drug-riddled lunatics who win not because Socialism generates a superior person – but because their system is deficient and insane. Alice is definitely “Through tthe Looking Glass”.

Software programmes attacked social media platforms often without the knowledge or consent of the owners. It was only after Trump lost, left office and his voice suppressed on social media that he suffered an about face and became all about “free speech” – but he is up to his fascistic tricks yet again! I cannot post any videos of the 81st Victory Parade that I have lifted from Telegram. When I attempt this – the video comes up “Private” and cannot be accessed by any viewers (the controls still say “public” and nothing can be altered, etc). So, yet again the US finds itself at the forefront of all reaction, revisionism, and dare I say it – blatant fascist oppression! We must work around this new threat to freedom. The US, UK, and EU have granted Neo-Nazi Ukraine billions in finance and more aggressive weaponry to attack Russia. Trump is directly behind this and this is why he does not want you hearing or seeing President Putin talk on May 9th – the video is suppressed like all the others. Instead, I will provide you with the written speech. On this day (May 9th 2026) the Army of North Korea participated to mark the sacrifice its soldiers made in freeing Kursk (the DPRK seems to treat modern Russia as the USSR). Onwards and upwards! The working class can meet and overcome all difficulties. Greetings to the millions of comrades in the US who reject Trump but whose voice is also suppressed. We hear you!

Cuba categorically declares that it does not harbour, support, finance or permit terrorist or extremist organizations. Our country maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards the financing of terrorism and money laundering, and is committed to preventing, detecting and confronting illicit financial activities, in line with international standards.

Any past interactions involving individuals subsequently designated as terrorists occurred only in limited humanitarian contexts, linked to internationally recognized peace processes, at the request of their respective governments, in a fully transparent manner.

Cuba does not host foreign military or intelligence bases and rejects characterization as a threat to U.S. security. Nor has it supported any hostile activity against that country nor will it allow our territory to be used against another nation.
