Why China Will Defend North Korea: China-DPRK Friendship & Co-operation Treaty

People have asked why China will come to the aid of North Korea if the West (i.e. the US-led UN), attack North Korea – and the answer is one of treaty and legality. A diplomatic agreement exists between Mainland China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). This agreement is entitled in the Chinese language as ‘中朝友好合作互助条约’ – which translates into the English language as the ‘China-DPRK Friendship and Co-Operation Treaty’. It is also informally known in the Chinese language as the ‘中华人民共和国和朝鲜民主主义人民共和国友好合作互助条约’ or ‘People’s Republic of China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation’. This Treaty was ratified on July 11th, 1961 in Beijing, with Zhou Enlai representing Communist China and Kim Il Sung representing Communist North Korea. This important Treaty has been automatically renewed twice, and is now valid until 2021.

The Treaty primarily guarantees full military (and other assistance) to the other Contracting Party when the Contracting Party is in a State of War. The parties do not participate in any alliance, group, action or measure that is hostile to the other party. In the economy, culture, science and technology,full cooperation is to be carried-out. Both sides agree to grant where relevant – full economic and technical assistance. From the date of signing (1961), this Treaty is valid and binding to both sides for 20 years, and has been renewed in 1981 and 2001. Either side can request an alteration to the terms, or an annulment of the Treaty in writing 6 months prior to each intended re-newal date.

The Treaty was approved by Liu Shaoqi, Chairman of the People’s Republic of China on August 30, 1961, and was approved by the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Political Consultative Conference of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on August 23, 1961. Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai and DPRK Prime Minister Kim Il Sung (as the representatives of the two sides) met on September 10th, 1961 in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang to exchange articles of agreement. In accordance with Article 7 of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Cooperation between China and the DPRK, this Treaty entered into force on September 10th, 1961.

2014: South Korea Returns Remains of Chinese Volunteer Soldiers (Photographs)

On the morning of March 28th, 2014, the first batch of the remains of at least 437 Chinese Volunteer Soldiers – who died in the Korean War (1950-1953) – were respectfully returned by South Korean Forces to modern troops of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) during a sombre ceremony at Incheon International Airport. Mao Zedong deployed millions of Chinese Volunteer Army Soldiers into the Korean Peninsula in a successful bid to prevent the Communist State of North Korea being invaded and destroyed by US and UN Imperialist Forces. Although exact casualty figures for China are unknown – it is thought to be well over 500,000 (and probably many more). As the US and UN Imperialist Forces were nearly ousted from the Korean Peninsula – the bodies of many Chinese Volunteer Army Soldiers remained on the South Korean side of the 38th Parallel that separates capitalist South Korea from Socialist North Korea. Encouraged by their US colonial masters – the South Korean Government has decided to disinter the Chinese remains and clear the ‘enemy war cemeteries’, so that the land space can be used to build luxury flats, house for the rich and exclusive hotels.

DPRK: Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) Red Flag (Explained)

The Workers’ Party of Korea (WKA) was founded in 1949 (with the support of the Soviet Union) from the merger of a number of Marxist-Leninist and anti-imperialist groups that covered all parts of Korea (including the South prior to its annexation by the United States).

Its Red Flag represents its historical association with the Soviet Union and contains the usual hammer (representing industrial workers), and a sickle (representing agricultural workers), but also includes a central calligraphy brush traditional to Korean scholarship (representing intellectuals).

This addition to the Soviet Red Flag demonstrates Korea’s intellectual independence from the Soviet ideologues (despite their important historical association), and represents Korea’s unique departure from the more formal strictures of Marxist-Leninism. In many ways, the North Koreans interpret their Juche philosophy as an ‘improvement’ or ‘progression’ of Marxist-Leninist thinking – although this is a contested issue. The Juche philosophy views humanity as the driving force of history (and not ‘class’), a humanity that must be led by a strong military (for self-defence purposes).

Although Western narratives try to shoe-horn Juche into Stalinism (suggesting that Stalinism was a departure from Marxist-Leninism) this is incorrect on both counts.

Stalin did not depart from Marxist-Leninism – but did have to apply this ideology during the most extraordinary of situations in the world. Similarly – Korean Juche – has nothing to do with the Soviet system – but is a unique Asian adaptation of Marxist-Leninism – perhaps involving a secular Confucian influence (hence the scholar’s brush). Whatever the case, the North Koreans have a right to self-defence and self-determination. Regardless of North Korea’s development of its own pathway – as a nation it still considers itself part of the International Communist Movement – and I have personally seen North Korean delegations visit the grave of Karl Marx in Highgate Cemetery on the anniversary of his death in march of each year (usually accompanying Communist Chinese representatives).

North Korean Martial Arts Preserved in Northern China

What many people do not understand is that the martial art of Tae Kwon Do that spread across the world after the Korean War (1950-1953) was invented by the US imperialists after their defeat in that conflict. This was because most of the ‘real’ Korean martial arts masters livid in North Korea and supported the Socialist government for the empowerment of the ordinary Korean people. The US colony of South Korea is a Christianised fabrication with martial arts that stem from fascist Japan!

Not only this, but much of traditional Korean martial arts are preserved and practised in Northern Chinese provinces such as Jilin – where annual competitions and displays are held. Although ethnic Koreans living in China naturally dominate these events – Communist China is very proud when Chinese practitioners get anywhere near the top three positions in competition! The top picture is of a baking tool used in self-defence in North Korea termed the ‘Fighting Steamed-Dumpling Hammer’ (打糕槌 – Da Gao Chui). North Korea has a long history – once being apart of China – which a very rich and unique martial history. This is why many ethnic Koreans still live in North-East China and preserve their martial traditions.

WHO: North Korea’s Universal Health System – Envy of Developing World (2010)

The capitalist West operates a number of differing health systems that vary in effectiveness and social justice. Millions die of medical neglect every year in the developed and affluent West due to a lack of income, and the subsequent inability to ‘buy’ access into the otherwise opulent and advanced medical facilities, administered by national governments and private enterprises. In the case of the rich USA, many citizens lack even the most basic of health insurance policies, and are refused treatment. The cost of effective healthcare in the US is so great (as the private businesses that run the health system seek to maximise profits by excluding the poor) that many people on low to middle incomes are plunged into debilitating debt, even losing their own homes. Quite often, those suffering from cancer have their treatment stopped half-way through by uncaring doctors as their insurance payments run-out. Of course, the inherent and systemic inequalities within the capitalist system are falsely presented by those who run (and benefit from) that system, as being exclusively the fault of those who suffer from these inequalities. The poor are considered ‘poor’ not because the middle class steals their money and keeps them in a deficient state, but rather because they are considered ‘lazy’ and therefore not worthy of benefiting from all the positives of living within a capitalist society. Working class people dying from a preventable illness is seen as ‘natural’ by the capitalists, who will spend any amount of money to stop themselves from suffering the same fate.

Between 1948 and 1990, the UK had arguably the best ‘Socialist’ health system in the world. The left-leaning Labour Party that won the 1945 General Election in Britain introduced a Welfare System and National Health System as a reward to the returning working class men who had served in the British Armed Forces during WWII.This comprehensive system of cradle to the grave welfare and healthcare was very similar to that operating in the Soviet Union at the time, and was paid for in the UK through taxation (being ‘free’ at the point of use). The rightwing Margaret Thatcher – although of working class background herself and having benefited from Britain’s Socialist System – nevertheless harboured a deep-seated hatred of Socialism, and dedicated her time as Britain’s Prime Minister in an attempt to abolish the Welfare State and the NHS. The National Health Service and Community Act of 1990 was the first substantial attempt at privatising the NHS by switching the onus of its operation from ‘care’ (regardless of the cost), to being limited by ‘cost’ (regardless of the treatment needed). This switch from ‘care’ to ‘cost’ was continued by Tony Blair and Gordon Brown during the wasted years of New Labour’s tenure in power (through the notorious ‘Private finance Initiative’). What remained of the British NHS was finally privatised in 2012 by the Conservative and LibDem Coalition led by the rightwing Tory David Cameron. Today, the British NHS is crumbling and people are dying due to medical neglect and inadequate medical care, as the switch from ‘Socialist’ to ‘private’ health proceeds very slowly (as if trying to ‘hide’ the transition from an apathetic tax-paying population). As a consequence, although the British NHS used to appear in the top 10 of world health systems, it does not even make the top 20 anymore, due to its dilapidated (and dangerous) state. The failure of the Labour Party to win the 2017 General Election has condemned the British NHS to the planned Tory-led demise. In the meantime, British people are suffering to an extent not experienced since before the NHS came into being during 1948.

The European Union (EU), being the tool of US foreign policy as it undoubtedly is, insists through its working legislations, that ALL ‘Socialised’ medical and welfare Systems throughout Europe must be ‘privatised’ and subjected to the control of free market economics. The EU has its anti-Socialist ideological roots in the US generated Truman Doctrine and Marshall Plan. In this regard, the US has been successful at diverting the European working class away from Socialism and toward capitalism. Although the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the anti-Socialist rhetoric of the US (and EU) continues unabated, with its targets including Communist China, Cuba and of course, North Korea. All three ‘Communist’ countries possess ‘free’ universal healthcare systems that put Western, capitalist countries to shame. It is a Socialist principle that all citizens within a Socialist State are entitled to the best quality healthcare that is available, delivered ‘free’ at the point of use. Of course, despite the inequality and the shocking state of many Western health Systems (that demand payment), virtually no criticism of these systems is evident in the Western press. Generally speaking, there is no printing of lists containing the endless names of Westerners who have died of medical neglect or the related medical incompetence. What is evident, however, is an endless stream of false propaganda aimed primarily at North Korea, which states all kinds of lies and fabrications about the DPRK’s excellent universal and free ‘Communist’ Healthcare System. So prolific is this requirement to ‘lie’, that even the World Health Organisation (which remains ‘silent’ about the poor Healthcare Systems in the West), had to alter its positive verdict on North Korea’s Healthcare System after visiting the country in 20100 – but it did this in a distinctly ‘schizophrenic’ manner. On the one-hand the WHO declared the DPRK’s Healthcare System as being the ‘envy’ of the developing world – whilst simultaneously ‘copying’ the false rhetoric of the west and illogically stating in the next breath that hospitals were crumblings and people starving, and so on!  Even the usually inaccurate and fake English language wikipedia entry dealing with North Korea’s Healthcare System had to acknowledge the bizarre nature of the WHO’s positive-negative verdict regarding North Korea!  It is clear that the WHO wrote an entirely positive report about North Korea – before being forced by the US to ‘alter’ its findings to fit-in with that country’s negative view of any and all Communist countries.

DPRK: Is Kim Jong Un Giving-Up the Hereditary System and Rejoining the ‘Communist’ Camp?

Translator’s Note: Although the terms ‘Socialism’ and ‘Communism’ were apparently ‘removed’ from official documents in the DPRK a number of years ago, this did not mean that North Korea abandoned its Socialist or progressive institutions or establishments. On the contrary, the DPRK carried-on building Socialism and striving to establish Communism by looking after its people and providing for all their educational and material needs.  The idea that the removal of these two terms on paper equated with the abandonment of Marxist-Leninism in practice, is an error of interpretation. The only issue of note is that of the ‘heredity’ system in North Korea, and the dominance of that country’s government by a single branch of the ‘Kim’ family – but this is a matter for the North Korean people and no one else. Finally, although China is attempting to remove US and South Korean aggression against North Korea (by calling upon all sides to exercise restraint and arms control), nevertheless, articles within the Chinese press make it blatantly clear that China will come to the aid of North Korea should the West attack it. In May of this year (2016), the DPRK’s Workers’ Party will hold its 7th National People’s Congress.  It is thought that during this 7th Congress, the term ‘Communism’ will be re-written into the DPRK’s Constitution, or that slogans using the term will be used throughout the DPRK. In fact, with around a month before the 7th Congress begins, the DPRK Workers’ News publication has increased the intensity of its coverage, with Editorials including the word ‘Communism’! A typical example reads:

‘Military and civilian workers in the DPRK are striving together to build a Bright New Dawn and a Great Shining Path as a means of establishing ‘Communist’ civilisation in the country!’

The term ‘Communism’ has not appeared in the North Korean media for a long time. In April, 2009, the Supreme People’s Assembly (held in North Korea) decided to remove the term ‘Communism’ from the Constitution. Then in June, 2014 (after 39 years of ideological consistency) altered the Guiding Principles of the Constitution and the Workers’ Party Guiding Regulations for the first time, stating that ‘the only way to establish the DPRK Workers’ Party’s Ten Principles’, is only through the ‘Baishou Mountain Descent’ System – whereby Kim Jong Un’s regime was confirmed as being purely ‘hereditary’ in nature.

With the abandonment of the terms ‘Socialism’ and ‘Communism’, and the movement away from the ‘dictatorship of the proletariat’ – and the ‘Communist’ vision followed by Kim Il Song and Kim Jong Il – North Korea has become a de facto ‘Dynasty State’. This seems to suggest that Kim Jong Un’s rule is now viewed as more important than that of his ancestors, and that the Marxist-Leninist basis of revolution and workers’ struggle has been side-lined, or relegated as less important.

When North Korea followed the ‘Communist’ path, it was very much viewed as a hermit country with little interest in the outside world. With the abandonment of ‘Socialism’ and ‘Communism’, and the establishment of Kim Jong Un’s rule, the DPRK has become very active on the international stage, and has attracted unwanted and unwarranted attention from the capitalist West – particularly the US. Could it be the case that to remedy this, the DPRK is going to re-engage ‘Communism’, and abandon the Kim Family inheritance pathway?

The DPRK media has not used the term ‘Communism’for around 14 years – but its sudden re-emergence, it does appear that a change is coming. This is significant, as the DPRK has only held 6 previous Congresses in 1946, 1948, 1956, 1961, 1970 and 1980. The upcoming Congress will be the first in 36 years since the rule of Kim Sung Il!

导读: 朝鲜将于今年5月召开劳动党第七次全国代表大会。有观点认为,“共产主义”一词有可能会在本次七大上重新写入宪法,或者朝鲜政府将提出与共产主义相关的口号。
距离朝鲜劳动党第七次全国代表大会还剩大约一个月时间。朝鲜媒体已经展开了如火如荼的造势活动,以迎接这个重要场合。与此同时,有一个词也意外出现在宣传内容里——“共产主义”。朝鲜《劳动新闻》7日刊登的社论中写道,
“军人建设者和人民要将黎明大街建设成为符合文明国家面貌的共产主义理想大街。“
“共产主义”一词已好久没有出现在朝鲜媒体上。2009年4月,朝鲜召开的最高人民会议,决定从宪法中删除“共产主义”一词。2014年6月,朝鲜时隔39年首次修改规范力度高于宪法和劳动党章程的《树立党的唯一思想体系十大原则》,明文规定了“白头山血统”—金正恩一家的政权世袭制。
朝鲜毅然摒弃“共产主义”,无异于向全世界宣布朝鲜进入“王朝国家”。更为重要的是“共产主义”一词消失,代替的是“金日成和金正日主义”;同时删除了“无产阶级专政”。将原来“为完成社会主义、共产主义伟业而斗争”的部分修改为“为完成主体革命伟业而斗争”。这就意味着比起共产主义理念,金氏一家唯一领导体系更为重要。
当年朝鲜去共产主义的行为并未引起世人轰动,毕竟所有人都心知肚明:朝鲜此举只不过是捅破了一层窗户纸罢了。然而,近来朝鲜官媒再次提及“共产主义”,不免令人浮想联翩。难道在金正恩领导下的朝鲜要回归共产主义,甚至放弃金氏家族世袭?
韩联社认为,朝鲜媒体近期开始提到已有14年未提的“共产主义”,或表明共产主义一词有可能会在本次朝鲜劳动党七大上重新写入宪法,或者朝鲜政府将提出与共产主义相关的口号。
朝鲜劳动党七大是朝鲜时隔36年再次召开全国党代会,上一次朝鲜召开党代会还要追溯到金日成主政时期的1980年。朝鲜劳动党在历史上共召开过六次全国代表大会,分别是在1946年、1948年、1956年、1961年、1970年和1980年。

North Korea’s Right to Self-Determination Supported by Communist China (4.7.2017)

According to Western (bourgeois) media sources, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) – also known as ‘North Korea’ – successfully tested a missile that flew 600 miles before downing in the Sea of Japan. Western reports also suggest that Communist China ‘condemned’ this missile test – but according to what can be read on the Chinese language internet, China has always held to the position that it will defend Communist North Korea from any forms of Western aggression. The photographs on this blog entry are dated to the 25th May, 2016, and are from a Chinese language (Xinhua) news article ‘celebrating’ the DPRK’s successful launch of submarine-based ballistic missiles. The DPRK is forced to develop its own weaponry to combat the advanced weaponry of mass destruction that is aimed at it by the United States, and which is provided by the US to the military forces of South Korea. This proves that the DPRK is acting in self-defence to aggression already perpetuated toward it by the US and its allies. In this regard, the Chinese language article continues, the DPRK has every right to defend itself under International Law.  As hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of Chinese men and women gave their lives fighting US aggression in the Korea in the early 1950’s, it is highly unlikely that Communist China would desert the DPRK – which operates as a buffer-zone between Communist China and the capitalist South Korea.

North Korea: Otto Warmbier (1994-2017)

The United States of America pursues a political path that is thoroughly anti-Socialist and anti-Communist, with this anti-Working Class policy being codified, normalised and intensified after WWII, and the development of a Cold War pseudo-history that was designed to misrepresent the Soviet Union, Communist China, and any nation that has undergone a Socialist Revolution. Of course, North Korea has attracted a strong vitriol from the US propagandists, particularly in the light of the US Military defeat inflicted in North Korea by the North Korean Military and its Chinese Volunteer Army allies during the Korean War (1950-1953), with the US Military nearly losing South Korea as a result. The US government – whether Democrat or Republican – will not rest until all vestiges of Working Class self-assertiveness is wiped-out across the world, and US-style predatory capitalism rules the world. US foreign policy falsely believes that Communist China will not come to the aid of North Korea, if the US attacks North Korea. In fact, the Chinese language internet (Baidu) is littered with official and unofficial texts clearly stating that Communist China will ‘defend the Socialist Revolution’ in North Korea, if North Korea is attacked by the US (or any of its allies). The US is misleading the Western world when it makes such irrational and blatantly ‘untrue’ propaganda statements, and hiding the truth that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will ‘annex’ North America and put an end to its ridiculous capitalist system – and in so doing, bring Socialism and peace to the world! Make no mistake, Communist China will not allow North Korea to be invaded, and capitalism brought to its borders.

Therefore, anything the US government states must be assumed to be ‘lies’ until proven otherwise. In the unusual case of Otto Warmbier, for instance, the American (University of Virginia) student who visited North Korea on a five day new year tour during late December and early January 2016, and who was caught on CCTV ‘stealing’ a poster from a hotel wall (containing Communist statements), the Trump Administration has been ranting and raving stating Otto Warmbier was ‘beaten’ to death – whilst the US medical report (available for all to see online) clearly states that there was no evidence of any physical damage to his head or body. The CCTV footage shows Otto Warmbier stealing the sign from a restricted part of the hotel on January 1st, 2016, and he was arrested on January 2nd, 2016. Otto Warmbier was tried and convicted for the theft of a political sign from a restricted area of the hotel. Evidence at his trial included his confession, CCTV footage, fingerprint evidence, and witness testimony. Unusually, a press conference was held on February 29th, 2016, where Otto Warmbier confirmed his confession – stating that he was charged with this task by a ‘church’ that he and his family belong to in the US. He stated that the church required the sign (or something similar) because it considered ‘Communism’ to be ‘evil’ and the sign would be placed in the church so that everyone could ‘pray’ for the downfall of the North Korean Communist System, and replaced with US-style capitalism. This part of Otto Warmbier’s statement exists all over the Chinese Language internet – which favourably carries North Korean news articles. However, these articles also state that the church involved has since stated it does not know Otto Warmbier or his family. The English language wikipage, of course, provides a pro-US narrative and will not include the full text of Otto Warmbier’s confession.

Bear in mind that the US currently operates the biggest prison slave labour force in the world when assessing the following details. The only country that imprisons and exploits its own population is the USA. Now, On March 16th, 2016, Otto Warmbier was to be sentenced to 15 years re-education through hard labour (for a crime against the North Korean State). On June 12th, 2017, North Korea released Otto Warmbier into US custody due to ill health. After complaining of stomach pains (referred to as food poisoning) he apparently took a sleeping pill and refused to wake-up. He was still in this semi-comatosed state when he arrived back in the US, although the medical examiners (at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center) could not find any traces of food poisoning, or evidence of food poisoning. Otto Warmbier died in the hospital at 14:20hrs on June 19th, 2017, at the age of 22 years old. North Korean medical records suggest that he was in this state from around April, 2016, with North Korean MRI scans revealing brain damage due to oxygen deficiency in the brain. Of course, hundreds of people die everyday within the US prison through ‘accidents’ and ‘assaults’ carried-out by other inmates or guards. Others die of illness or injury due to inadequate or non-existent medical care, whilst others are quite literally worked to death but the US and capitalist media remain silent and the UN refuses to investigate. Chinese language texts state that Otto Warmbier received the best ‘free’ medical care within the North Korean Communist System – equivalent to that of a millionaire in the US.  He was not mishandled or brutalised, but his behaviour was very suspicious.

Also played-down by the Western, capitalist press, was the manner in which Otto Warmbier expertly eluded hotel security and made his way into a ‘restricted’ part of the hotel – as if well trained for a mission to extract a specific North Korean sign. The only mistake he made was not being aware of the surveillance cameras that caught him in the act. In the meantime, it has been revealed that Otto Warmbier is of Jewish ethnicity, and that his family supports Zionist Israel. This raises questions as to whether Otto Warmbier was on an Israeli secret mission to interfere with North Korean stability in some way (or simply ‘training’ for more elaborate missions later on) – the reason why he was found guilty of a crime against the North Korean State. Finally, it is implied in Chinese language texts that Otto Warmbier died as a result of medical negligence in the US – due to delays caused by arguments over who was going to pay his medical bills.

North Korea has a Right to Defend itself Against US Aggression

The United States is the aggressor in Asia. As a capitalist country, it requires wars to fuel its sagging boom or bust economy,  and in so doing, take control of other areas of the world through business and commerce. This is the US policy of neo-imperialism and neo-colonialism. America is able to do this because the European Union is fully on-board with this racist agenda, as are such US colonies as South Korea, Taiwan and Japan, etc. Interestingly, since the end of WWII, the US military has been defeated twice in Asia,  firstly Korea and secondly in Vietnam, but with Donald Trump at the helm, nuclear weapons might well be an option for the West. The US is continuously threatening North Korea and trying to antagonise that regime onto a war-footing with the US. In the meantime, the Western media continues to lie about the situation, claiming that Communist China will not come to the aid of the DPRK should such a war arise. This is a dangerous and false propaganda. Although there exists much debate about the nature of the relationship between China and the DPRK within China, the official policy remains one of protecting the DPRK against US attack. This policy implies that an attack on the DPRK will be viewed as an attack on China – and that the Chinese government will take appropriate steps to ‘defend’ itself. Asian people should unite and collectively throw-out the US presence from the region. If they do not, then Asian people will be sacrificed yet again for the pursuance of a racist, US foreign policy.

North Korea Has Continuously Called Upon the US to Sign a Peace-Treaty

The following article was published on the Chinese language search-engine ‘Baidu’ in 2015, and demonstrates President Obama’s unwillingness to sign a Peace Treaty with North Korea. In 1953 during the Korean War, the US and UN forces had suffered numerous and humiliating military defeats at the hands of the Chinese ‘Volunteer’ Army and its North Korean ally. With no hope of victory insight, the US decided to sign an ‘armistice’ agreeing to a cease-fire – but not an official end to hostilities. Today, over 60 years later, North Korea and South Korea are still in a ‘state of war’, which the US will not allow to be changed – despite continuous requests by the North Korean leadership. This is because the US believes that the North Korean regime can be bankrupted and impoverished by its continuous requirement to develop arms to protect its borders from the threat of US military aggression, and that pressure upon North Korea equals pressure upon its major ally – Communist China. Although Donald Trump is a rightwing, bourgeois lunatic, his ultra-aggressive policy toward North Korea is remarkably continuous of US foreign policy since 1953, and in-line with Obama’s approach, albeit more pro-active and dynamic. Trump wants North Korea destroyed (and capitalised), and Russia to be a subordinate branch of the EU, as a means to spread US-style domination around the globe. North Korea reportedly rejected the idea of resuming talks to abandon its nuclear program on Saturday, but said it would welcome negotiations for a peace treaty with Washington.

North and South Korea are still technically at war after signing a truce in 1953 to temporarily end their conflict. The U.S. also signed the deal after backing the South.
