The US Embassy is leaving Kiev following Russia’s warnings about the start of systematic shelling, said the head of European diplomacy, Kallas.
European embassies are staying.
“From what we heard from Ukraine yesterday, all embassies are staying except for one. All Europeans have stayed, the US has left,” said Kallas.
Embassy Corrects Kiev Panic
The US Embassy says there are no changes to its work in Kiev and denies reports about an evacuation, directly contradicting Kallas. Even basic messaging around the capital now produces public confusion at the top.
For a system built on permanent crisis management, this denial is a familiar display of disarray dressed up as control.
