In modern Russia, Whiteness has replaced Internationalism – and is presented (like homophobia) as a matter of “common sense”. Many ordinary Russians oppose Nazism – and yet routinely express racist opinions. Whilst reporting Trump’s latest attack on his own population – many Russians are applauding his removing of the BLM sign on racial grounds (they, like Trump, consider BLM and Civil Rights to be an attack on Whiteness). Only a few Russians appear cautious – as if scared to voice an opposing opinion.
One or two attempted to explain to others “why” this “symbol” was constructed (the “murdering of a Black man by White Police”). No one expressed any real understanding of BLM – either its good or bad aspects. Russians seem to be dying on the battlefield – not for Socialism per se – but rather for Russian nationalism. The paradox is that te world needs a capitalist Russia to oppose a US-derived Neo-Nazism in Ukraine – but the same world also requires a Neo-Nazi Trump to put a stop to it all.
We still have to live with the fact of Trump assisting the Israeli-inflicted genocide in Gaza. Whereas US White racism firmly rejects people of colour – Russian White racism accepts people of colour – providing these people acknowledge the validity of Russian White racism. I bet Lenin never saw that coming! The far-right outside of Ukraine supports the Azov Battalion because it is directly “Hitlerite” – but rejects the broader “Maidan” Junta as it is led by a Jew and recruits many of its volunteers from veterans of the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) – the same IDF that has been committing “Genocide” in Palestine! The genuine (Hitlerite) far-right rejects the White Supremacy practiced by Zionists due to its association with Judaism.
