On April 20th, 2023, at the Office of the President of Vietnam, the President of the Republic of Vietnam – Vo Van Thuong – welcomed the Delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party – led by Thongsavanh Phammong – member of the Party Central Committee, who was the Head of the Committee. The Foreign Relations Committee of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party Centre – working and participating in the 10th friendship meeting between the two foreign relations committees of the Laos-Vietnam Party Centre – met with our Vietnamese Comrades in the Thu Thien Hue Province of the Republic of Vietnam.
On this occasion, Comrade Vo Van Thuong expressed his welcome to Comrade Thongsavanh Phom Duong along with the Committee that visited the Republic of Vietnam and met with the Foreign Relations Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the first time – after implementing a new role where the two Parties are applying the Resolution of the 13th General Conference of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Resolution of the 11th General Conference of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party. The President of Vietnam expressed his happiness and appreciated the success of his official visit to Laos at the beginning of April – expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome he and his felllow Comrades received! He further expressed his appreciation for the achievements that the Laos Communist Party has achieved in the protection and development of the country – and hoped that this developmet will continue to achieve new and greater achievements in the mission of protecting and building the nation. The President also made a guiding comment to the two foreign relations committees of the Central Party of Laos and Vietnam – to continue to strengthen coordination and cooperation to promote the implementation of the agreements that the two Parties and the two governments have agreed to apply, as well as confirming that the Republic of Vietnam will continue to work with the Laos Communist Party to increase the number of great friendly relations, special unity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the people of the two nations of Vietnam and Laos. A friendship that will produce results and last forever!
Comrade Thongsavanh Phom Dinh also expressed his great joy for leading the Delegation to visit and work in the Republic of Vietnam and expressed his sincere gratitude to Comrade Vo Van Thuong, the President of the Republic of Vietnam who gave a warm welcome, expressed his congratulations to Vo Van Thuong who was appointed as the President of the Republic of Vietnam and reported that the Laos side – appreciating the success of the Comrade’s visit to Laos in early April, which was his first visit to Laos after assuming the position of President. A message was delivered from General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Laos Communist Party to Comrade Vo Van Thuong, President of the Republic of Vietnam. Comrade Thongsavanh Phom Nguyong gave a brief report on the purpose of his visit to Vietnam this time, as a continuation of the cooperation-exchange visit mechanism between the two Foreign Relations Committees of the Laos-Vietnamese Central Party and also as an activity to celebrate the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Year in 2022. The Comrades confirmed that the Party, State and People of Laos together with the people of Vietnam will continue to protect and strengthen the great friendship, special unity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the People of the two Laos-Vietnamese nations – so that day by day – it will blossom and bear fruit!
In the evening of the same day, Ms. Truong Thi Mai, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Party, a Permanent Secretary of the Central Party Secretariat, and the Head of the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam also welcomed the delegation’s visit. Comrade Ms. Truong Thimai expressed high appreciation for the visit and work of the team in the Republic of Vietnam – as an important contribution to the enhancement of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos; Appreciating the cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the two Foreign Relations Committees of the Central Party of the two Parties in the past; Appreciating that the two sides jointly organized the celebration of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2022 with great success; Appreciating that the two sides have coordinated in implementing the agreements of the senior leaders of the two Parties and the two States in the past; asking for news of Comrade Bounthong Chitmani, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Party, Permanent Secretary of the Central Party Secretariat, Vice President of the Laos Communist Party; Congratulations to the team visiting and working in the Republic of Vietnam this time with great success.
