World Insights: China’s Sci-Tech Progress Not to be Hammered by Technology Blockade! (14.10.2022)

Up to now, China has established a sci-tech cooperation relationship with more than 160 countries and regions, and joined more than 200 international organizations and multilateral mechanisms.

Thanks to its greater focus on independent innovation and international cooperation, China moved up to the 11th place in the 2022 Global Innovation Index (GII) and firmly remains the only middle-income economy in the top 30, showed the latest ranking published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

“China’s growth (in GII ranking) from 34th ten years ago to 11th (in 2022) … is really spectacular. The close attention paid by the government and the country to innovation as an engine of growth is paying off,” WIPO Director General Daren Tang said at the press launch of GII 2022.

“China nurtures its innovation ecosystem in a holistic, comprehensive manner,” he said.

Ministry Slams US Report on China’s CEE Influence

Since the launch of the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism 10 years ago, fruitful results have been achieved in more than 20 fields including trade and investment, interconnectivity, tourism and the response to COVID-19, Mao said, noting that all participants have benefited from such cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, China-CEEC trade expanded 8.4 percent year-on-year to $103.45 billion in 2020, and bilateral trade maintained an average annual growth rate of 8 percent between 2012 and 2020.

Large projects such as the Belgrade-Budapest Railway, which links Serbia and Hungary, benefit people in both countries, Mao added. The spokeswoman said that China has no geopolitical agenda in Central and Eastern Europe and always opposes the politicization of cooperation.

It is one of those great ironies which observes that some of those countries which attempt to rhetorically use the concept of ‘Human Rights’ as a bargaining chip during political negotiations – or as a justification to inflict military destruction on others – are amongst some of the greatest abusers of Human Rights the world has ever known! This is why those countries who oppose these nefarious forces are coming together (in a friendly manner) to participate in coordinated military games, competitions and other types of ‘collective’ peace-time deployments!

Surrounded by thousands of devout followers of the Buddha, the eminent monks – led by the Venerable Dharma Master Jing Hui – each mounted the mandala-platform in turn.
