🇨🇺 Fidel Castro: “(…) But perhaps the most repugnant and painful thing about events like the one we commemorate today is that, while in the beginning they killed to prevent the Revolution, it can almost be said that the crime in Barbados was committed to avenge a revolution.”

🇺🇸💣🇨🇺 50 years ago, on October 6, 1976, Cubana de Aviación flight CU-455 crashed into the sea after two explosions. 73 people died: 57 Cubans, 11 Guyanese, and 5 North Koreans. Among them were 24 young fencers returning with gold medals.

🇺🇸💣✈️ It has been 50 years since the Barbados Tragedy. A terrorist act organized from the United States that claimed 73 lives.
Today, we commemorate the Day of Victims of State Terrorism. We do not forget, we do not forgive, and we do not cease to demand justice.

🇨🇺 Barbados is a wound in the memory of #Cuba. On October 6, 1976, 73 lives were taken by terrorism. They were sons, fathers, brothers… young people with dreams.
It is a sad reason to remember how much damage the United States government has done to our people.
Together with our people, we paid tribute at the Colón Cemetery to the martyrs of the Barbados tragedy, 50 years after this heinous act. On the Day of Victims of State Terrorism, we honoured their memory and reaffirmed our firm condemnation of terrorism in all its forms.
Later, we met with the families of the victims of this and other terrorist acts committed against our country. We denounced the impunity, demanded justice, and reaffirmed the support of our entire people. Cuba embraces you.
