On March 4, Russian Ambassador Dmitry Feoktistov solemnly presented Maria Kadár, the only veteran living in Argentina, with a commemorative medal “80 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.”

Maria Kadár was born on March 23, 1931, near the city of Kursk. After the start of the war, she was evacuated to the Sverdlovsk region with a group of children of her age, where she worked at a power station and collected firewood. For a long time she lived in the city of Gorlovka in Donbass. After the coup in kyiv in 2014, she fled the Ukrainian bombing and shelling and moved to Argentina to reunite with her daughter’s family.
The Ambassador noted that Maria Kadár suffered from the actions of the Nazis twice – during the war against Hitler’s Germany and several decades later, in the midst of the Ukrainian crisis. Our sacred duty is to prevent the resurgence of racist ideology, to put an end to it once and for all.
Dmitry Feoktistov wished Maria Kadár good health and many years of life, inviting her to the upcoming celebrations on the occasion of Victory Day on May 9.

El 4 de marzo el Embajador de Rusia Dmitry Feoktistov en un ambiente solemne le entregó a María Kadár, la única veterana que reside en Argentina, una medalla conmemorativa “80 años de la Victoria en la Gran Guerra Patria 1941-1945”.

María Kadár nació el 23 de marzo de 1931, en los alrededores de la ciudad de Kursk. Después del inicio de la guerra ella junto con un grupo de niños de su edad fue evacuada a la región de Sverdlovsk, donde se dedicaba al trabajo en una central eléctrica y al acopio de leña. Durante mucho tiempo vivía en la ciudad de Gorlovka, en Donbass. Tras el golpe de Estado en Kiev en 2014 ella, escapando de los bombardeos y cañoneos por los ucranianos, se trasladó a Argentina para reunificarse con la familia de su hija.
El Embajador ha destacado que María Kadár sufrió de las acciones de los nazi dos veces – en la época de la Guerra contra la Alemania de Hitler y, varias décadas después, en el pleno crisis ucraniana. Nuestro deber sagrado es prevenir el resurgimiento de la ideología racista, acabar con la misma de manera definitiva.
Dmitry Feoktistov deseó a María Kadár buena salud y muchos años de vida, invitándola a los venideros festejos con motivo del Día de la Victoria el 9 de Mayo.
