Well, the far-right have has had its moment in the UK – and it has failed – like an infantry assault that ran-out of inherent momentum, purpose, and point. The British public did not rise-up in support of the fascists – and they are slightly confused by this lack of more general support. The (centre-right) Labour government has imprisoned hundreds (mostly “White”) in quick fashion – but this includes some (Asian) Muslim protestors being arrested whilst opposing the far-right and supporting Palestine. Within the media, I notice more “people of colour” being presented as hunted criminals who are threats to law and order. The Labour government seems to be attempting to placate what it thinks is the “White” majority – who might be disturbed by supposed non-White crime, etc.
All this began with two British Muslim men assaulting UK Police Officers at Manchester Airport – and the rioting of the Romanian (Gypsy) people living in Leeds. To date, no one can explain to me why the UK possesses thousands of Romanians living in it – as the UK has no imperial links with that country. Still, we have all contracted into our communities and our homes.
We live upstairs in a second-floor flat – so I will protect the top of the stairs should the fascist mob arrive – whilst Gee is tasked with defending the bedroom door should I be neutralised. Mei-An (our eldest daughter) is to protect Kai-Lin (our youngest daughter) should Gee be neutralised. If Mei-An is neutralised – then Kai-Lin is to jump-out the window. We have designed this strategy as “retreating layers of defence” – as we do not expect any help from external sources.
All we can use in the UK is sticks and natural obstacles – not considered weapons. Of course, I will not give-up the stairs lightly (I will protect the stairs with my life). I will block the passage-way with the fallen bodies of the disarmed enemy. The point is this – we are not afraid and have been preparing for a show-down with the far-right for decades!
We have our Red Flags, we possess Socialist dialectics, and we study Maoism – who can beat us with such an armoury of empowering ideas? Of course, our limited struggle cannot be compared with that suffered by African-Americans – but when it is time for us to take our place in the front-line – we will not be found wanting!
