Translator’s Note: I have been protesting against the US-backed Neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine since early 2014! The US, UK and EU have been politically supporting the Neo-Nazi Azov Battalion since that time with training, arms and money. The idea of this formation (and other Neo-Nazi Units) was to ideologically spear-head a NATO (military) thrust into East Ukraine and West Russia. The Militias of the People’s Republics of Lugansk and Donetsk held-off the Western-backed military attack on the ethnic Russian enclave of Donbass – until the Russian Army came to their aid during early 2022. Russia is still fighting Hitlerism on our behalf and we – the working class – must remain grateful for this new sacrifice! As usual the US is lying. It may be that “officially” America started openly supporting the Azov Hitlerites during 2022 – but the support originates further back in time before that date. I know that ethnic Ukrainians were participating in military training on Salisbury Plain routinely between 2014-2022 and beyond. Around 8 million Ukrainians have spread throughout Western Europe and I believe this has led to a general lurch to the political far-right in elections. ACW (23.6.2024)

NEW YORK, June 22. /TASS/. The US administration allegedly provided support to the Ukrainian nationalist regiment Azov (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) even before the ban was lifted. This was reported by The Intercept.
The publication came to this conclusion based on indirect statements by the US authorities, as well as photographs published by the nationalist regiment.
In particular, Azov published photographs of people in American military uniforms presenting a certificate from December 2023 to one of the regiment’s captains on completing a training course with the participation of US forces in Europe. The State Department and the Pentagon declined to comment to the publication on whether it was legal for a member of Azov to take such a course before the ban was lifted.
In addition, the publication notes, one of the former State Department employees told the publication that, according to his understanding, Azov could have received support from the American authorities since 2022.
Earlier in June, The Washington Post reported, citing a statement from the State Department, that the American authorities had authorized the transfer of weapons to Azov, lifting a long-standing ban. The United States had a ban on providing assistance to Azov due to the Neo-Nazi nature of its ideology and activities, but already in 2023, the newspaper cited a source in the State Department who admitted that this norm had no practical effect. Congressman Paul Gosar said at the time that the ban was diluted after Azov fighters were incorporated into the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the National Guard, and Separate Armed Formations such as the Kraken Special Forces Unit and the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade were created with their participation.

НЬЮ-ЙОРК, 22 июня. /ТАСС/. Американская администрация, предположительно, оказывала поддержку украинскому националистическому полку “Азов” (признан террористической организацией и запрещен в РФ) еще до снятия запрета. Об этом сообщает портал The Intercept.
Издание пришло к такому выводу на основании косвенных заявлений американских властей, а также фотографий, опубликованных националистическим полком.
В частности, “Азов” опубликовал снимки с людьми в американской военной форме, вручающими сертификат от декабря 2023 года одному из капитанов полка о прохождении курса подготовки при участии сил США в Европе. Госдепартамент и Пентагон отказались комментировать изданию, было ли прохождение подобного курса членом “Азова” легальным до снятия запрета.
Помимо этого, отмечает издание, один из бывших сотрудников Госдепартамента заявил изданию, что, согласно его пониманию, “Азов” мог получать поддержку американских властей еще с 2022 года.
