Dialectical forces are often contradictory – and sometimes complementary – it depends upon the dynamics of the situation. This is like the “Push-Hands” exercise found within Taijiquan (太極拳) practice – there are “forward”, “back” and “intermediate” positions – all of which feed with equal validity into the overall situation. All elements of a situation possess myriad ways of evolutionary development – dependent upon the choices made by conscious human-beings. Of course, the point Charles Darwin makes is that prior to the development of human consciousness – this “evolutionary” development was “blind” in as much as it was “natural”.
Human culture today, at least in the developed world, is very much contrived and deliberately kept in the situation it is in. The (minority) rich want to protect their accumulated wealth – and to do this – the institutions of the society they control must collude to maintain the poverty of the (majority) poor. And herein lies the reality of the situation. There are by far more oppressed workers than there are “oppressing” controllers! De we – the “oppressed” – really want the culture of the “oppressors”?
I suspect there must be a constructive “rejection”. What comes next is not written in stone. What comes next is unwritten. It could be that an intelligent worker – that is an oppressed entity who can read and write – can infiltrate the culture of the oppressor and work to bring it down from within. This is an important observation as the “lessening” of oppression in one part of society – may well relieve the burden of suffering inflicted upon oppressed individuals somewhere else within society. As the choice of dialectical development is essentially infinite, in theory there is no limit to the objectives that can be achieved. Things are not simple – but neither should there be a “fear” that limits expression.
