We are very proud of our direct ancestors who fought in the International War Against Fascism between 1939-1945! Of course, the UK stood alone between 1939-1941 – until Nazi Germany and her Catholic) allies viciously invaded the USSR! At that time the UK and USSR entered into a historic agreement to present a united military front in the face of World Fascism! Not only this, although the UK lost around 350,000 soldiers and civilians across all the theatres of WWII (including 70,000 civilians during the ‘Blitz’) – the Soviet Union lost an incredible 41 million casualties between 1941-1945! Meanwhile, throughout China and across Asia the forces of Imperial Japan inflicted around 60 million killed and wounded!
The politically motivated casualty lists of the contemporary Bourgeois West play down the Soviet and Asian casualty figures whilst over-exaggerating the losses of the West. The UK morally led the way whilst China and the USSR fought their corners with an incredible tenacity! At this special time of year we must also remember the Soviet and British POWs who suffered at the hands of the brutal (fascist) Imperial Japanese – with the Soviets also brutalised by the Nazi Germans (who viewed them as sub-human). We also remember the bravery of all the animals which served the British Military throughout both World Wars (signified by a Purple Poppy)! At the setting of the sun – we will remember them!
