DPRK Supreme Leader of the People: Televised speech made by Kim Jong-Un on the 1st of January, 2014 (Source: DPRK Labour Action News).

International Online Special Report: DPRK Supreme Leader of the People – Kim Jong-Un – on the 1st of January, 2014, delivered a televised New Year speech in which he stressed that in the upcoming year, the economy will continue to grow and strengthen so that the living standards of the people will be further developed. The Armed Forces of the DPRK will be reinforced in the progressive struggle for the reunification of the motherland. DPRK Labour Action News has already published an article concerning this important issue. Kim Jong-Un’s New Year greeting stated that through a strong military, the people of the DPRK will be guided by the bright light of progressive innovation and experience a boom in prosperity. This development will include progressive shortcuts (toward prosperity) premised upon advanced thinking. This will simultaneously encourage the building of closer ties between the military and the people based upon a mutual confidence.

The original article stated that the New Year message of Kim Jong-Un retained (and built upon) the thinking of the former leaders – Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il – emphasising the significance of the need for further development in 2014, particularly with regard to working towards the resolving of the Reunification of the Motherland Movement issue, the defence of national sovereignty, the maintaining of peace in the world, and the development of dignity.

The original article further stated that through the unity of the people of the DPRK, the instructions for continued and progressive struggle contained in Kim Jong-Un’s New Year greeting can be successfully implemented and effectively developed. In this way, the DPRK will be strengthened and empowered so that the people can move forward to achieve ever greater prosperity, and more meaningful victories. This year’s struggle involves the heroic labour of the people so that all these ideals and dreams can be realised.  This is the correct manner in which to prepare the country for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Korean Workers’ Party and the continuation of the March to Victory!

The original article concludes with a rallying cry for all members of the Korean Workers’ Party, the people and the Armed Forces of the DPRK to work together in ever greater unity, so that 2014 will be the year of great and progressive change!
