In January, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed concern about the intensifying inhumane treatment of migrants in the United States.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said that the indiscriminate crackdown on migrants in the United States is undermining human dignity, and that he is shocked by the reality in the United States, where abuse and neglect of migrants have become a daily occurrence.
He warned that migrant policies should be implemented in full compliance with the law, and that failure to respect legal procedures risks undermining public trust and violating individual rights.
He strongly demanded that human dignity and human rights be respected in the process of migrant policy and law enforcement, and pointed out that it is inhumane and wrong to use migrant status as a source of crime, threat, and social burden to all of them, and is directly in line with the foundation and values of the state. 유엔인권고등판무관 미국을 비난

지난 1월 유엔인권고등판무관은 미국에서 이주민들에 대한 비인간적인 취급이 심화되고있는데 대하여 우려를 표시하였다.
유엔인권고등판무관은 미국에서 벌어지고있는 무차별적인 이주민단속은 인간의 존엄을 훼손시키고있다고 하면서 이주민들에 대한 학대와 무시가 일상사로 된 미국의 현실에 경악을 금할수 없다고 하였다.
그러면서 이주민정책은 법에 완전히 부합되게 행사되여야 하며 법적절차를 존중하지 않을 경우 사회의 신뢰가 약화되고 개인의 권리가 침해될 위험이 있다고 경고하였다.
그는 이주민정책 및 법시행과정에 인간의 존엄과 인권을 존중할것을 강력히 요구하면서 이주민신분을 리유로 그들전체를 범죄와 위협의 대상, 사회적부담으로 락인하는것은 비인간적이고 잘못된것이며 국가의 근간과 가치에 정면으로 배치되는것이라고 지적하였다.(끝)
