The BBC has never been anything than a broadcasting mouthpiece of the Bourgeoisie. This observation is beyond dispute. However, as a corporation financed by the public – it has bee known over the years to produce good quality educational material and often present both sides of an argument. Yes – it perpetuated the 1970s US myth that the world was heading toward a new Ice Age (the CIA was convinced the USSR possessed a weather-altering machine) and was generally antagonist toward Socialism – but on the other hand, it produced the Socialist-friendly “People’s Century” TV series (very difficult to find today) – recording the tumultuous events of the 20th century. Since 2010, with the election of the Tories and LibDens, the BBC became completely rightwing and lost all connection with impartiality and reality. It supported the overthrow of Libya and the Neo-Nazi takeover of Ukraine. Its Russophobic and anti-China content is anti-intellectual and borders on the insane. I stopped listening to the World Service in 2010 as well as watching virtually all BBC content. What the BBC did to Dr Who is disgusting.
